Nickal carries with him high hopes that he can be THE MAN in the UFC one day. For one, he remains undefeated in the pro ranks, albeit after only four fights. The last time he stepped inside the Octagon, Nickal submitted Jamie Pickett in the first round of their fight last March in the undercard of UFC 285: Jones vs. Gane.
That has been the leading trend in Nickal fights in the UFC. All three of his wins in the organization have come via first-round submissions. In his pro-MMA debut, Nickal scored a knockout win against John Noland last year at iKON FC 3: iKON Fighting Championship before moving on to the UFC. There’s a lot that Nickal has to prove before he gets taken seriously, but a win this Saturday is definitely going to be a step in the right direction.
Betting on Tresean Gore (+750 on DraftKings)
- Odds: +750
- Record: 5-2-0
- Age: 29
- Height: 6′ 0″
- Weight: 185.50 LB
- Reach: 75 in
Gore snapped a two-fight losing skid last October when he scored a submission victory over Josh Fremd in the undercard of UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Allen. That was his second submission win in the UFC. Also worth mentioning is the fact that he’s never been submitted.
Gore has more pro-MMA fights under his belt than Nickal, though not by much. However, he appears to be the more aggressive fighter when it comes to striking. He is averaging 3.04 significant strikes per minute in the UFC compared to just 1.67 by Nickal. Of course, Nickal is more of a wrestler, hence the difference in striking numbers, but Gore can play Nickal’s game, too. Gore has a 71 percent takedown accuracy in the UFC and an 81 percent success rate against takedowns.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Bo Nickal vs Tresean Gore
Nickal will look like a real deal in this fight as he works his way on the ground and score plenty of points with absolute control with his solid wrestling. Taking Nickal to win.
