Latin American UFC Fighters | Genaro Valdez
Genaro Valdez has been a real sensation in professional wrestling by winning his first 13 victories by knockout. In 2022, he has the opportunity to make his UFC debut, and will do so with a showdown against 31-year-old American Matt Frevola. Valdez is 29 years old and is projected to become the next Mexican champion in Dana White’s prestigious company.
UFC Latin American Fighters | Michael Morales
Michael Morales put Ecuador on the UFC map after his impressive 12-fight undefeated start in professional fighting. The 22-year-old has recently been training in Tijuana with trainer Raul Arvizu, and is coming off a major accomplishment after defeating Nikolay Veretennikov in the Contender Series event.
It is not common to see a representative of Ecuador in the major events of this sport, but Morales has earned the respect of all the exponents of his category.
UFC Latin American Fighters | Fernando Padilla
Fernando Padilla is another Mexican Mixed Martial Arts fighter who will definitely be starring in major UFC events during the 2022 season. The 25-year-old fighter has a record of 14 wins and 4 losses. He is coming off a 145-pound title shot in May 2021. Padilla has been training in the state of California, along with other talented Latino fighters such as Alex Perez and Chito Vera.
Latin American UFC fighters | Christian Quiñones
Christian Quiñones has long been one of the top prospects in Latin American wrestling. He currently has a more than respectable record of 14 wins and 3 losses.
The 25-year-old Zacatecas native finally has a chance to win a title in the UFC, after excelling in several organizations in Mexico. Quiñones is currently training in Tijuana, awaiting his first UFC fight after defeating China’s Long Xiao.
UFC Latin American Fighters | Brandon Moreno
Brandon Moreno is the new owner of the mark of being the first Mexican-born man to be crowned UFC champion, after his resounding victory over Deiveson Figueiredo on June 12, 2021. The 28-year-old fighter is one of the current stars of the top Mixed Martial Arts company, and throughout 2022 he will look to remain at the top of his division.
Moreno’s UFC record is 19 wins, 5 losses and 2 draws, and currently has the support of just over one million followers on his Instagram account, which goes by the name @theassassinbaby.
Latina women in the UFC in 2022
It is important to highlight the important work being done by several women fighters, something that serves to open the way for women from countries such as Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela. In addition to highlighting the championship of Venezuelan Julianna Peña, other Latin women are projected to shine in upcoming UFC events, especially those who train in Mexico.
