Betting Preview for UFC Fight Night Featuring Max Holloway vs Korean Zombie & Other Big Cards on August 262023
Max Holloway (-750) vs Jung Chan-sung (+525)
Featherweight
No. 1 featherweight challenger Max Holloway is looking to move closer to another title fight, as he takes on The Korean Zombie. The former featherweight king beat Arnold Allen last April via unanimous decision to improve to 24-7-0. He also has a 10-0 T/KO record. Jung’s last fight ended in a loss to Alexander Volkanovski in a title fight last year. He can shock the world by beating Holloway this weekend. That’s going to be easier said than done, but with an 8-0 submission record, he can’t be completely ignored.
Prediction: Max Holloway wins via KO.
Anthony Smith (+110) vs Ryan Spann (-130)
Light Heavyweight
Smith and Spann will fight again nearly two years after they first had a date inside the Octagon. In 2021, Smith submitted Spann in the first round of their fight during a headliner of a UFC Fight Night event. However, Smith (36-18-0) has lost his next two fights. Spann (21-8-0) has gone 2-1 since, with wins against Ion Cutelaba and Dominick Reyes.
Prediction: Spann wins via submission.
Giga Chikadze (-238) vs Alex Caceres (+195)
Featherweight
After a long while, Chikadze (14-3-0) will be seeing action inside the Octagon again this weekend. He last fought in January 2022 against Calvin Kattar, who beat him via unanimous decision in a headline bout. That means It’s been nearly two full years since Chikadze won his last fight against Edson Barboza. Chikadze has a 9-0 T/KO record. Caceres (21-13-0) can gain even more momentum with a win this Saturday, as he has won both his two fights since losing to Sodiq Yusuff last year.
Prediction: Chikadze via KO.
Rinya Nakamura (-850) vs Fernie Garcia (+575)
Bantamweight
Nakamura will look to stay undefeated in his MMA career. He is 7-0-0 overall and is coming off a win in the bantamweight tournament in the Road to UFC Season 1. Garcia (10-3-0) has zero plans of being another victim of Nakamura, as he attempts to prevent a three-fight skid. He lost to Journey Newson and Brady Hiestand – both via unanimous decisions – in his last two fights.
Prediction: Nakamura wins via decision.
Erin Blanchfield (-148) vs Taila Santos (+124)
Women’s Flyweight
No. 3 challenger Erin Blanchfield and No. 4 Talia Santos are set to face off this weekend in what should be an entertaining fight. Blanchfield has an 11-1-0 record and is undefeated in through five fights in the UFC. Santos has a 19-2-0 overall record with a 10-0 KO mark. She is also coming off a close loss to Valentina Shevchenko in a title fight last year.
Prediction: Santos wins via decision.
Junior Tafa (-142) vs Parker Porter (+120)
Heavyweight
Tafa (4-1-0) will enter the Octagon coming off just his first loss as as professional, as he suffered a unanimous defeat loss to Mohammed Usman in his UFC debut last April. He is still pretty dangerous, with all of his four wins coming via knockouts. Porter, meanwhile, ended a two-fight losing skid when he scored a knockout win over Braxton Smith last March in UFC 288: Sterling vs. Cejudo. Porter has a 14-8-0 record in MMA.
Prediction: Tafa wins via KO.
