Betting Preview for UFC Featuring Sean Strickland vs. Abusupiyan Magomedov Other Big Cards on July 1 2023
Sean Strickland (-170) vs Abusupiyan Magomedov (+145)
Middleweight
A middleweight clash between Strickland and Magomedov headlines this week’s UFC Fight Night event, and it’s one that could deliver the best fight of the evening. Strickland is 26-5-0 and is looking to stay undefeated this year. He beat Nassourdine Imavov last January via unanimous decision. Magomedov, meanwhile, is 250-4-1 and has not fought since he destroyed Dustin Stoltzfus last September in a knockout victory.
Prediction: Strickland wins via split decision.
Damir Ismagulov (-130) vs Grant Dawson (+110)
Lightweight
No. 12 heavyweight Ismagulov and No. 15 Dawson can light up the fireworks when they square off inside the Octagon. This matchup puts a knockout artist in Ismagulov against a submission expert in Dawson. Ismagulov has a 24-2-0 record with 12 KO wins and only one via submission. Dawson, on the other hand, is 19-1-1 with just a 4-1 KO record but a 13-0 submission slate.
Prediction: Dawson wins via submission.
Max Griffin (+205) vs Michael Morales (-245)
Welterweight
Morales has not tasted defeat ever in his MMA fighting career thus far. He does not intend for that to change when he takes on Griffin on Saturday. Morales is 14-0-0 with 11 knockout victories. The Ecuadorian will be put to the test, though, as Griffin is a solid fighter with a 19-9-0 record and has won four of his last five fights.
Prediction: Griffin wins via knockout.
Ariane Lipski (+165) vs Melissa Gatto (-195)
Women’s Flyweight
Lipski has not won back-t0-back fights since 2020, but she’ll get an opportunity to finally do it again this weekend. She is coming off a unanimous decision win over JJ Aldrich last March and is now 15-8-0 overall. Meanwhile, Gatto is eyeing going back to her winning ways after losing her most recent fight, which took place over a year ago in May 2022 in a fight against Tracy Cortez (UD). Gatto is 8-1-2 overall.
Prediction: Gatto wins via split decision.
Ismael Bonfim (-320) vs Benoît Saint-Denis (+265)
Lightweight
This fight is going to be just Bonfim’s second in the UFC, but he’ll also be entering Saturday with a 13-fight win streak. He is 19-3-0 overall with a 9-0 knockout record. He faces a tough fighter in Saint-Denis, who is also on a roll. Saint-Denis has won both of his last two fights. He is 10-0-0 overall with eight submission victories.
Prediction: Bonfim wins via knockout.
Abdul Razak Alhassan (+140) vs Brunno Ferreira (-165)
Middleweight
Alhassan is looking to score a huge win to boost his stock in the middleweight division, and that’s exactly what he’ll get if he takes care of business this coming weekend against Ferreira, who is undefeated in 10 professional fights. Alhassan is 12-5-0 and has all of his wins coming by way of knockouts, while seven of Ferreira’s victories are through submissions.
Prediction: Alhassan wins via knockout.
