Injured NBA Stars Who Are Close to Returning:
5.- Jamal Murray – Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets have remained in the Western Conference standings due to the superlative performance of reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. However, the return of Jamal Murray would raise the team’s level to the point of making it a serious favorite to reach the series that defines the champion of the season.
After 5 years in the NBA, Murray averages per game 16.3 points, 3.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds with 36.7% three-point shooting.
4.- Ben Simmons – Brooklyn Nets
The Australian did not play with the Philadelphia 76ers in the current campaign, and due to his physical problems he has not been able to make his debut with the Nets yet.
In the midst of an inconsistent season for Brooklyn, Simmons‘ entry into the starting five would be more than enough of a boost for the team to regain its tag as the favorite in the Eastern Conference.
In the 2020-21 NBA campaign, the three-time All-Star averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game.
3.- Lonzo Ball – Chicago Bulls
Lonzo Ball starred in the Chicago Bulls’ explosive start to the season, and his absence due to a knee injury has disrupted the performance of a team that finds itself in fifth place in the Eastern Conference after being on top for a considerable period of the regular round significantly.
In his first year in Chicago, Ball averaged 13 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
2.- Zion Williamson – New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans are coming off an exciting close to the regular season that has them in good position heading into the NBA play-in tournament.
At the moment, the team led by Willie Green has Brandon Ingram and C.J. McCollum as the main offensive figures. In addition to the imposing presence of Lithuanian Jonas Valanciunas in the paint. However, the top figure, Zion Williamson, is still missing.
