The NFL has been disclosing the 2022 NFL schedule in dribs and drabs, and Monday Night Football in the second week of the championship was the latest to be revealed.
The National Football League planned a surprise for this occasion, and to keep making changes to its calendar year after year, they announced the return of the doubleheader for the traditional Monday night game, which had been played since the 2006 season in the first week of the championship and which was eliminated last year.
As revealed by the league itself on its social networks, the Tennessee Titans will face the Buffalo Bills on September 19 and the Minnesota Vikings will face the Philadelphia Eagles on September 19. The first match will start at 7:15 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by ESPN, while the second match will start at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by ABC.
Likewise, the NFL announced that this Thursday, May 12, at 8:00 pm ET, they will reveal the complete schedule for the 2022 season.
Titans vs. Bills heading into NFL 2022’s Monday Night Football
Two of the AFC’s favorites will face off in a high-impact matchup when the Bills host the dangerous Titans at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo.
This will be the second year in a row that the two teams will face off on Monday Night Football, and the fifth time in the last five years that they have faced. In that matchup last season, the Titans came away with a big game by winning with a 34-31 slate. Additionally, the last time the Tennessee team visited the home of the Bills was in 2018.
Vikings vs. Eagles heading into NFL 2022‘s Monday Night Football
This matchup between two classic NFC teams will be played at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Eagles, and will represent Philadelphia’s first home game of the 2022 season.
This will be the third Monday Night Football matchup between the two teams. The previous two were also played at the Eagles’ home and the home team came out on top in both the 1990 and 2006 games.
