Oklahoma is coming off a terrible defeat last week, when they were surprised by Kansas State in a game in which their defense was thoroughly outplayed by their opponents, while doing well offensively.
In a game of give and take, the Sooners’ 550 total yards were unable to secure the victory. In any other game, this offensive display, which also ended without any loss of the ball, would have been enough to end on a positive note. The star was quarterback Dillon Gabriel, with 330 yards and four touchdowns.
Defensively, things did not go well at all, especially when it came to stopping quarterback Adrian Martinez. In addition to allowing 509 total yards, Martinez not only threw for 234 yards and a touchdown through the air, but also moved the chains on the ground with 148 yards and four touchdowns scored.
Betting on the TCU Horned Frogs
- Regular Season Record: 3-0
- Unibet Spread: +6.5.
- Moneyline: (+200).
- Over/Under: 68.5.
The Horned Frogs are in a terrific position to face the strong Sooners in their first major game of the season.
TCU remains undefeated after a good win in their last game against Southern Methodist, where they totaled 487 total yards. The offense was deployed both through the air and on the ground, something that surely worries an Oklahoma defense that is coming off a poor performance. Through the air, QB Max Duggan threw for 278 yards with three TDs, while on the ground they racked up 296 yards with three more touchdowns.
Just like their rival, the Horned Frogs’ doubts are regarding their defense. If against the Mustangs they conceded 476 total yards, against the Sooners things don’t look so good considering they are among the top 10 offenses in the nation.
JefeBet Prediction
Despite TCU’s recent success, the history of their matchups versus Oklahoma doesn’t favor them. In nine of the last ten clashes between the two universities, the Sooners have come out on top and have not lost since October 2014.
Despite their defensive struggles against Kansas State, Oklahoma has one of the best offenses in the nation and the defense doesn’t usually perform like that very often.
Prediction: Oklahoma Moneyline.
