The San Diego Padres leaked a new report on the health of Fernando Tatís Jr., which leaves his date of return to action uncertain.

According to a report by writer Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Californian team’s report on the results of the latest CT scan that was done on the young player’s wrist “did not show the level of recovery that the Padres expected.”

With this new setback in the recovery of the stellar Dominican shortstop, the possibility that he will soon face a rehabilitation assignment remains in limbo. In fact, he still can’t take batting practice at all.

In the first instance, the team led by manager Bob Melvin had the firm belief that their top figure could debut this season in the middle or end of June. However, recent reports make it clear that there is a possibility that he will eventually end up sitting out for the rest of the 2022 season.

Despite the absence of Tatís Jr., the Padres are fighting hard for the pennant of the National League West Division, and are currently tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first position, with a record of 39 wins and 24 losses.

In the next few days, a new report should be leaked that defines the near future of the 23-year-old, who comes from registering superstar numbers in 2021, which placed him among the finalists for the National League MVP award.

How Much Does Fernando Tatis Jr Earns with the Padres in 2022?

Fernando Tatis Jr. is the top star of the San Diego Padres.

For the 2022 Major League Baseball season, Tatís Jr. has a salary of $5.7 million. However, after agreeing to a groundbreaking extension of a 14-year, $340 million deal, his (and his family’s) future is guaranteed.

It is important to mention that the Dominican’s salary will continue to rise in the coming years, until the 2029 season arrives, where he will earn the annual maximum of his agreement: $36.7 million.

After 273 MLB appearances, Tatís Jr. has an average of .292 and an OBP of .369, with 81 home runs and 195 RBIs.
