Paul Pogba returned to Juventus this summer after not having a good experience with Manchester United. However, when everything seemed to be alright, he suffered an injury in training that could prevent him from taking part in the upcoming World Cup to be played in Qatar 2022 from November 21 to December 18.

Paul Pogbá’s injury not only alarms the “Bianconeri” team, which was pleased to get the “10” back, but also the France National Team, as the World Cup is only four months away and the player’s expected recovery time is unknown.

How serious is Paul Pogba’s injury?

Italian media La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that the player, who won a World Cup with France at the Russia 2018 World Cup, suffered a knee injury and could undergo surgery that would not give him enough time to recover before Qatar 2022.

The diagnosis is damage to the lateral meniscus of the right knee. The midfielder is still undergoing tests to determine which method is best, since the shattered part can be removed or simply sutured. Each treatment, however, has a varied recovery time: the first might take him two and a half to three months to heal, while the second could take three to five months. If the latter is chosen, the player wouldn’t be able to join France’s national team at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Information is circulating that Juventus want the player to undergo surgery as soon as possible, but that he is seeking an opinion on his own because he does not want to miss the World Cup. This information is unofficial, as neither the French midfielder nor the Italian team have provided any information on social media about the injury or the procedure that may be performed on him.

The main reason that led Pogba to return to Serie A was to be able to be active on a regular basis, with a view to maintaining a place in the national team ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. In the last season with Manchester United in the Premier League, he did not have much participation as he only played 20 games.
