Management turnover over the last year has been a real calamity for the Las Vegas Raiders with president Dan Ventrelle being the latest to jump the bad guys’ ship. Ventrelle will no longer be the Raiders’ president, according to the organization’s owner, Mark Davis, in a statement posted on the team’s official social media accounts.

“Dan Ventrelle is no longer with the Raiders. We will not comment further at this time.”

With less than a year on the job, Dan Ventrelle assumed the Raiders’ presidency last July after Marc Badain, who worked for 30 years in the organization, resigned from the position citing family reasons, the completion of Allegiant Stadium and the desire for new activities.

Ventrelle, like Badain, worked for the Raiders in a variety of capacities before taking over the team, serving as general counsel and executive vice president since joining the organization in 2003.

Dan Ventrelle is not the only one

Since its arrival in Las Vegas, in 2020, the Raiders’ organization has seen countless members of its front office resign from their positions. This has generated a serious organizational crisis due to the large number of years that most of them had been with the team, and due to the importance of their positions for the team’s development.

In addition to Dan Ventrelle, the other recent case is Jeremy Agüero, who resigned Thursday as the Raiders’ director of operations and analytics after just seven months with the team.

Prior to these two names, a gale of resignations came after the end of the 2021 season. The first one was CFO Ed Villanueva, who retired after 18 years; he was followed by Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, Brandon Doll, after eight years, and controller Araxie Grant, after 20 months. In addition to them, Senior Vice President of Stadium Development and operations, Tom Blanda, and Senior Vice President of Revenue Management, Mark Shearer, also left the team after 31 and 23 years of service, respectively.

However, Las Vegas was heavily impacted not only on the management side. Coach Jon Gruden, who had signed a 10-year contract in 2018, resigned Oct. 11 in the wake of a scandal over misogynistic and racist comments in several emails, while General Manager Mike Mayock, hired in 2019, was fired in January.
