Roger Federer is the most beloved player in Tennis history and his famous RF logo is loved by his fans around the world, especially the RF T-shirt. Now, when Federer parted ways with Nike in 2019, his logo entered into a legal domain dispute. Now, with Uniqlo and having sorted out the mess, the famous RF T-shirt is back.
So, after a few years of having no logo apparel available – from caps to jackets – Federer is “extremely happy” to release a T-shirt that allows him to be close to his fans again. We’ll tell you all about it below.
Where does the RF logo come from?
In an interview with Uniqlo, Roger says that when his career was beginning to blossom, he and his wife, Mirka, began to think that they would need a logo. Now, at that time, logos with initials were not very well known, so they thought it would be a great idea. As a result, they brainstormed ideas and came up with a proposal very similar to the logo we know today. A floating R and F.
Roger has stated that his logo is highly significant to him because it was his first introduction to the world. He also said that later in his career, the logo became a symbol for his fans and followers. “Since in tennis we don’t have a number or name on the back, it was a way to connect with the fans and I really get that sense of community,” Federer stated.
Thus, this logo has become a source of pride and joy in the tennis player’s life.
Rf T-Shirt: When Will It Be Available and Where?
The T-shirts will be made of high quality Supima cotton. They come in two versions: black and white. Both have a pocket on the left side of the chest with the legendary logo. According to Uniqlo, the jersey will be available for purchase in select locations and on the brand’s website beginning on June 27, 2022.
They are additionally expected to release more T-shirts and even a jacket soon.
