Russell Wilson’s arrival to the Denver Broncos after his stint with the Seattle Seahawks has been one of the most talked about in this NFL offseason, and it has caused a great stir both in the league and in his new team, which has great aspirations and is really excited after the arrival of the quarterback.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton has already drawn comparisons between Russell Wilson and legendary former quarterback Peyton Manning, who was responsible for leading the team to its third Super Bowl in 2015 before his retirement, which is also the last one he has won since.

The last Broncos player to make positive comments about the quarterback was offensive tackle Garret Bolles, who compared Russell Wilson to other great athletes in the history of other disciplines. “You talk about some of the greatest athletes—Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Michael Jordan—the type of mentalities those athletes have—that’s what he has. He’s so focused all the time, ready to rock and roll, and it’s what we needed here,” commented Bolles.

Likewise, the tackle shared some of his words on the first occasion he communicated with Russell Wilson. “I know you’re used to getting beat up. No one is going to touch you here.” It’s worth remembering that Wilson has proven to be one of the most athletic quarterbacks in the entire NFL and is capable of not only throwing good passes, but also escaping from dangerous situations, such a good offensive line would only help him showcase his talents.

Now, the new task for the Broncos’ #3 will be to continue Manning’s legacy and to lead Denver to another playoff appearance, which they haven’t accomplished precisely since that championship in 2015, although this won’t be easy considering they compete in a division that features the Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers.

The Russell Wilson’s Effect on the Super Bowl Odds

Russell Wilson’s abilities in the league are more than proven to be right. Not for nothing did he lead the Seattle Seahawks to the championship in the 2013 Super Bowl — just his second NFL campaign — and helped the team reach the postseason in eight of his 10 campaigns with the franchise.

As soon as the player’s arrival was made public, the Denver Broncos’ odds to win the Super Bowl were significantly shortened, while Seattle’s skyrocketed after the loss of their star quarterback.

Prior to Wilson’s arrival, Denver’s odds to win the Super Bowl stood at +2500, and they currently stand at +1600 according to several bookmakers after he was confirmed to have joined the team. The Bills, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Packers, Rams and 49ers are the only ones to have better odds according to bookmakers.

On the other hand, these same bookmakers believe that only the Texans, Jets, Lions, Falcons, Jaguars, Giants, Panthers and Bears are less likely to win the Super Bowl than the Seattle Seahawks, who have odds of +8000 to +10000.
