Despite going through a good patch, the Padres face a tough series this weekend against a division rival that has beaten them in eight of their ten games this year.
In those duels, they have only managed to score 17 runs. And with the arrival of Juan Soto, Brandon Drury, and Josh Bell, they hope this will change this weekend with the urgency of having the Brewers on their heels for the third National Wild Card, just three games away.
On the mound, Yu Darvish will be responsible for trying to stop the Dodgers’ high-powered offense, against whom he has an 0-3 record in 2022 despite pitching two quality starts in those openings.

The Dodgers’ offense is one of the best in the league for its opportunism with men on base. And, while they have been dominated in a couple of starts by Yu Darvish, seeing him for the fourth time this season could be useful for Dave Roberts’ team.
On the mound for Los Angeles will be young Dustin May, who will be making only his third start of the season after missing much of it due to injury. He has pitched eight times in his lifetime against the Padres, five of them as a starter, in which he has a 2.72 ERA.
