Sebastián Ferreira showed his full potential in the Houston Dynamo’s 0-3 victory over the LA Galaxy, which earned him MLS Player of the Week 13 .
The 24-year-old Paraguayan soccer player is having a great 2022 season in MLS. Proof of this is that in the most recent match between the Dynamo and the Galaxy, Ferreira was the author of the first goal for his team and also collaborated with two assists.
Thanks to that great contribution, Sebastián Ferreira became the first Houston Dynamo player to participate in two goals or more since August 25, 2020, when Darwin Quintero achieved that feat.
After 13 dates played in the MLS, the Paraguayan has participated in eight of the 17 goals of the Texan franchise, that is, in 47.05% of the goals scored, with five goals and three assists.
Sebastián Ferreira put the first goal on the scoreboard at minute 11: he found the loose ball in the area and did not think twice. He quickly bounced the ball so that it passed over the goalkeeper, then he kicked it again to make sure it entered the goal.
His show continued in the second half: in the 58th minute, Ferreira provided the first assist of the match. He had the mark of a rival defender and managed to dodge it to later take a cross pass for his teammate Tyler Pasher that eluded some rivals, and then he managed to take out a powerful shot.
Sebastián Ferreira’s last assist was for his teammate Thorleifur Úlfarsson, who sealed the 0-3 win in Los Angeles.
Sebastián Ferreira is the first Dynamo player named Player of the Week since 2017
Ferreira’s great performance was not only positive for him, but for the whole team, as they had not won away against the Galaxy since October 28, 2018.
The Paraguayan became the first Dynamo player to win the MLS Player of the Week Award presented by Continental Tire since 2017. In Week 5 of the 2017 Season, the Mexican Erick Torres had received that award.
