Two of the hottest teams in the Brasileirao will face off this upcoming Saturday when league leaders Botafogo host the in-form Bragantino.
Botafogo has been on fire with a five-game winning streak, comfortably sitting at the top of the standings with 36 points, 10 points ahead of their closest pursuer. Under the guidance of Bruno Lage, they have conceded the fewest goals in the league, only 7, and remain undefeated at home with seven victories in as many games.
On the other hand, Bragantino has also been on a roll with five consecutive matches without a loss. Like their opponents, they have only suffered two defeats this season. The difference is that Pedro Caixinha’s team has drawn six games, placing them in sixth position with 24 points. It’s worth noting that four of those draws occurred away from home, where they have only managed one win in six matches.
Both teams deserve praise for their strong defensive performances in the league. Botafogo has kept a clean sheet on nine occasions, while Bragantino hasn’t conceded a goal in their last four matches.

Inter enters the match with two consecutive winless games, a performance that dropped them to tenth place in the standings with 21 points, three fewer than Fluminense in fourth place. The main problem for Mano Menezes’ team is that they have only scored 13 goals and have failed to score in their last two games.
On the other hand, Palmeiras hasn’t won a game in the last four matchdays, causing them to drop to fifth place in the standings with 24 points, but with a slightly lower goal difference. Under Abel Ferreira’s guidance, they have scored 23 goals, but they have conceded five of the 13 goals they have allowed in the tournament in their last four matches.
This even match-up suggests that there won’t be much difference in the game. It’s likely to be a tightly contested match with few goal-scoring opportunities and strong defensive performances.
