Universidad de Chile 1 – 1 Union La Calera (2/3)
Despite remaining second in the scoreboard, Universidad de Chile missed the opportunity to take three important points at home. Palestino 2 – 1 Huachipato (3/3)
In a clash between two of the best teams in the current tournament, which was marked by several tense moments, Palestino came out on top with a goal in stoppage time. The home team opened the scoreboard with a goal by Maximiliano Salas in the 45+9′. Huachipato evened the game in minute 63 with the third goal by Paraguayan Cris Martínez. However, Palestino would win the game from the penalty spot with a penalty kick by Agustín Farías in 90+8′.
Nublense 1 – 2 Universidad Catolica (3/3)
Universidad Catolica consolidated its position at the top of the scoreboard with another last-minute win, this time in Nublense’s grounds. Nublense pulled off a surprise at the end of the first half with a goal by Lucas Abascia in the 45+4′. However, Universidad Catolica proved why it is the highest scoring team in the championship by making the score even in minute 64′, with Alexander Aravena’s fourth goal. Then, they won the match in 90+4′ also with Fernando Zampedri’s fourth goal of the year.
O’Higgins 2 – 2 Curico Unido (4/3)
In a clash between two teams in need of points, O’higgins and Curico Unido ended in a draw, which does not help either team. Curico opened the scoring in 16′ with a goal by Diego Coelho, but the joy lasted only a minute because in 17′ Matías Marín made things even. In the 63rd minute, and thanks to a shot by Kennet Lara, Curico took advantage of the fact that O’Higgins was playing with 10 men to take the lead. However, in the 90+6′, the Paraguayan Arnaldo Castillo unleashed the madness of the local fans by making the match even.
Union Espanola 3 – 0 Copiapo (4/3)
Union Espanola climbed off the bottom of the scoreboard and out of the relegation zone at the expense of Copiapo, that is now at the bottom of the championship. Thanks to goals from Ariel Uribe, Rodrigo Piñeiro, and Leandro Gárate, the locals secured their first victory of the season, while Copiapo remained with four points, being the lowest-scoring team of the tournament with 18 points.
Colo Colo 2 – 0 Magallanes (5/3)
Colo Colo got a double revenge on Sunday after returning to winning ways and beating a Magallanes team that had defeated them in January in the Chilean Supercopa. The reigning champions opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a goal by Colombian Fabián Castillo. In the 72nd minute, besides, they put the newly promoted team to bed with Paraguay’s Darío Lezcano’s third goal of the year.
Cobresal 3 – 2 Everton (5/3)
Matchday 7’s last match of the Chilean Primera Division was extremely exciting, with five goals between two teams that will be fighting in the middle of the scoreboard. Everton started winning with a goal by Lautaro Pastrán in minute 11. However, in minute 18, Panamanian Cecilio Waterman made things even, and in minute 38, Pablo Cardenas gave Cobresal the advantage. Before the end of the first half, in the 45+5′, Pastrán scored his second goal of the game, but César Munder scored in the 59′ for the home team.
