Of the major European leagues, Serie A has been the last one to resume action after the break for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. For this reason, Italian soccer fans had to wait after Christmas and New Year’s holidays – as is the tradition in that country – to see a ball rolling around the soccer fields again. But now it’s game time, and matchday 16 offers Fiorentina vs Monza as one of the most interesting games.
On the one hand, the team from Florence, with a rich tradition that is not reflected in the only two league titles it holds, in 1956 and 1969. On the other side, the real surprise of Italian soccer, which, under Silvio Berlusconi’s leadership, reached the first division with the aim of staying in the first division, and then to be able to dream big.
The Artemio Franchi stadium will witness this clash that JefeBet presents with all the information as well as our predictions and betting odds.

Fiorentina Preview
Fiorentina is facing a very irregular season that places it in the middle of the table, eight points below the last place that gives access to the continental cups. The outlook is not encouraging for the “Viola” team, which lost 2-1 to Milan in its last match before the World Cup. Only two of the six defeats they have suffered were at home, where they will now play against Monza.
Croatian Luka Jovic is their main attacking menace, albeit an insufficient one, with just three goals scored in the tournament. To make matters worse, Argentine Nicolas Gonzalez is still out with an injury. The question is whether Vincenzo Italiano will give a place in the starting lineup to Sofyan Amrabat, who did an excellent job at Qatar 2022.
Probable lineup (4-2-3-1): Pietro Terracciano; Dodô, Lucas Martinez Quarta, Igor Julio, Cristiano Biraghi; Giacomo Bonaventura, Alfred Duncan; Jonathan Ikoné, Antonin Barak, Christian Kouamé; Luka Jovic.
Monza Preview
In his first experience in the elite of Italian soccer, and owned by the powerful businessman Silvio Berlusconi, who held the reins of Milan for several decades, Monza is facing many new challenges. The start, five consecutive defeats worried the board of directors, which sacked coach Giovanni Stroppa.
The arrival of Raffaelle Palladino gave them some space to take a breath, and they are now in 14th place in the table. It is clear that they have a hard time away from home since they have only picked up points in a draw against Lecce and a win against Sampdoria, having lost all the other games.
Probable lineup (3-4-2-1): Michele Di Gregorio; Marlon Santos, Luca Caldirola, Armando Izzo; Patrick Ciurria, Nicolo Rovella, Andrea Colpani, Carlos Augusto; Gianluca Caprari, Matteo Pessina; Andrea Petagna.
JefeBet Prediction
Fiorentina is not reliable and Monza seems to have gained some confidence. It will be a very balanced and close match and for JefeBet it will end in a goalless draw.
