Betting on Greece
The Hellenic team had a good 2022. It began by defeating Romania 1-0 in March, and then the team lost to Montenegro 1-0 (both friendlies). In the Nations League, the team defeated Northern Ireland twice (0-1 and 3-1), Kosovo twice (0-1 and 2-0), and against Cyprus it won once and lost once (a 3-0 win and a 1-0 defeat). The last two matches the team played were friendlies: a 2-2 draw against Malta and a 2-1 loss to Hungary.
It scored 14 goals in 2022, while conceding only 7. In other words, we are talking about a team that knows how to defend itself and neutralize the opponent’s attack. Still, the teams that Greece faced were not very strong, but were a good challenge ahead of a match against a team that is not very well known as Lithuania.
Probable lineup (4-2-3-1): Alexandros Paschalakis; Lazaros Rota, Pantelis Hatzidiakos, Panagiotis Retsos, Dimitris Giannoulis; Dimitris Kourbelis, Andreas Bouchalakis; Giorgos Masouras, Anastasios Bakasetas, Petros Mantalos; Fotis Ioannidis.
Betting on Lithuania
The Lithuanian national team’s recent record is not very good. In November 2022, the team played in the Baltic Cup, a competition in which it lost on penalties to Iceland after a 0-0 draw and then lost to Estonia 2-0. In the Nations League, it lost twice to Luxembourg (0-2 and 0-1), lost against Turkey (2-0 and 0-6), and drew and lost to the Faroe Islands (2-1 and 1-1).
So, it is fair to say that this is a team that has serious defensive problems, and that it is difficult for it to convert the few goal chances it generates per game.
Probable lineup (4-5-1): Marius Adamonis; Rolandas Baravykas, Vilius Armalas, Edvinas Girdvainis, Natanas Žebrauskas; Klaudijus Upstas, Gvidas Gineitis, Paulius Golubickas, Modestas Vorobjovas, Tomas Kalinauskas; Armandas Kučys.
JefeBet Prediction
Recent Greece vs Lithuania history indicates that they last met in June 2013 for the UEFA qualifiers, a match in which Greece won 1-0. Also, the previous year and in the first leg of that same stage, Greece won 2-0. At JefeBet we have no doubts that Greece will win this time as well.
Prediction: Greece wins 2 to 0.
