The Blades lost two very important players in the preseason, with their top scorer and most talented player, Iliman Ndiaye, leaving for Marseille, while their star defensive midfielder, Sander Berge, recently signed for Burnley.
Both left money for a Sheffield United team, who will have to find a way to replace those sensitive departures if they do not want to return immediately to the second division, and this debut against an accessible team will serve to show how capable the squad is.

Their only signings so far are midfielder Jefferson Lerma and Brazilian midfielder Matheus França, who is presumably Zaha’s replacement. This visit to Sheffield Wednesday will show what The Eagles are capable of without Zaha, and it is worth mentioning that their away record in the last Premiership was fairly even (four wins, five draws, ten defeats).

On the other hand, Palace will be playing without Zaha, who has been their best player in several campaigns.
With renewed offenses, both clubs will surely be very cautious when attacking in order not to expose themselves.
