Betting on England
England has maintained a steady pace in its quest to lift the World Cup for the second time in their history, and the first since 1966, topping their group stage and securing its place in the quarter-finals with a comfortable win over one of the surprises of the tournament, Senegal.
Although the African side did not make the game easy for England during the first half hour of the match, Jordan Herdenson’s 38th minute opener goal seemed to have given the Three Lions the confidence they needed to dominate the game. Harry Kane extended the lead just before the break, and Bukayo Saka made the difference go to 3-0 with a goal at the start of the second half.
In contrast to France, this match could evoke some positive feelings in England, given that their first meeting in a previous World Cup was in the edition in which they won their only World Cup. In addition, if England wins here, it would qualify to the semifinals of the tournament for the second consecutive time, something it has never achieved before.
