France Preview

France vs Morocco Predictions Picks Betting Odds Semifinals

Reigning world champions and top favorites, France has had a formidable run in this World Cup, which has increased its confident of winning a second consecutive world title, something that was last achieved 60 years agowhen Brazil won the 1962 edition with a 3-1 victory over Czechoslovakia (they had defeated Sweden 5-2 in 1958).

Didier Deschamps’s men had to do their best to overcome England in the quarterfinals. Although Aurélien Tchouaméni’s goal gave them the lead in the 17th minute, the English managed to even the game thanks to a goal from the penalty spot by Harry Kane.

However, France’s top scorer, Olivier Giroud, would arrive to make it 1-2 before Kane himself failed to capitalize on another penalty to level things up again.

Although he did not score and had a weak performance, France still has its main weapon, Kylian Mbappé. Kylian, with five goals, is still the top scorer of the tournament, as well as registering two assists.

Probable lineup (4-2-3-1): Hugo Lloris; Jules Kundé, Raphaël Varane, Dayot Upamecano, Theo Hernandez; Aurélien Tchouaméni, Adrien Rabiot; Ousmane Dembélé, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappé; Olivier Giroud.

Morocco continues to make history in this World Cup, and now the team will not want to stop until it takes the top prize, something that would be one of the biggest surprises in the history of soccer. The Moroccan national team proved that what they did against Spain was no coincidence, and they managed to overcome one of the main favorites, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal, in the quarterfinals.

A goal by Youssef En-Nesyri in the 42nd minute was enough for the Leones del Atlas to claim a narrow victory. The victory also came their way thanks to another solid defensive performance that saw them keeping a clean sheet for the fourth time in the five matches they have played so far. In fact, the only goal they have conceded so far was an own goal against Canada on the second day of the group stage.

That win over Portugal put Morocco’s name in the World Cup history books, as they became the first African country to reach the competition’s semi-finals since its inception in 1930.

Probable lineup (4-1-2-3): Bono; Achraf Hakimi, Jawad El Yamiq, Yahya Attiat-Allah, Noussair Mazraoui; Sofyan Amrabat; Azzedine Ounahi, Selim Amallah; Hakim Ziyech, Youssef En-Nesyri, Sofiane Boufal.

JefeBet Prediction

Although they have shown some very good things going forward, Morocco’s main strength in this tournament has been their defensive solidity. Still, they may be facing their toughest challenge yet this time around, as they will have to stop a powerful offense led by Mbappé, Griezmann and Giroud.

And while they were not entirely comfortable against England, they will probably be able to play the style of play they like best here, as Morocco will not go out to challenge them for possession and will try to resist as much as possible.

Both Morocco’s goalkeeping and defense have been nearly flawless in this World Cup, but now they will face the reigning champions, and one of the most dangerous offenses in the world. Therefore, although we expect Morocco to fight until the end, we are confident that France’s individual quality will eventually swing things in their favor.

Prediction: France to win (FRA 2 – 1 MAR)
