Betting on Torino

Torino continues to be in the midst of a great campaign, as it entered this matchday in seventh place in the standings. However, with nine points separating the team from the European competition places, finishing in the top half of the standings seems a much more realistic objective. Something that could attempt against the team’s European aspirations is the fact that teams such as Lazio, AC Milan and AS Roma are also going after the same goals.

It was precisely one of them, AC Milan, that the Turin side visited last matchday, registering a 1-0 defeat that ended a three-match unbeaten run in the league. However, this was only Torino’s second defeat in its last nine Serie A matches, having also recorded 3 wins and 4 draws in the process.

During that nine-match stretch, Torino was able to score more than one goal on only two occasions, something that highlights the problems the team has had this campaign with being productive offensively. This has also caused it to start this matchday 23 as the team with the fewest goals scored among the top 11 teams in the standings, with just 23 goals.

Probable lineup (3-4-2-1): Vanja Milankovic-Savic; Koffi Djidji, Perr Schuurs, Alessandro Boungiorno; Wilfried Singo, Karol Linetty, Ivan Ilic, Mergim Vojvoda; Nikola Vlasic, Aleksey Miranchuk; Antonio Sanabria.

Betting on Cremonese

Despite the fact that just over half of the calendar has been played, Cremonese’s destiny already seems to have been dictated. The team arrives into this match while occupying the last place in the standings, and without yet attaining a victory after 22 matches played. In fact, Cremonese is the only team in Europe’s top five leagues yet to record a win before this weekend.

Cremonese added a third defeat in a row to its record, and its second in a row without scoring, when it lost 3-0 away to the leaders, Napoli, last time out. Seeing Cremonese concede so many goals has been a common occurrence this campaign, currently making it the second-worst team in the league defensively, with a total of 40 goals conceded.

This encounter does not bode well for Davide Ballardini’s side either, as it has lost each of its four league matches (Serie A and Serie B) to Torino, a run that includes a 1-2 home defeat in its first clash of the season.

Probable lineup (3-5-2): Marco Carmesecchi; Alex Ferrari, Matteo Bianchetti, Luka Lochoshvili; Leonardo Sernicola, Marco Benassi, Soualiho Meïté, Charles Pickel, Emanuele Valeri; Felix Afena-Gyan, Daniele Ciofani.

JefeBet Prediction

Torino is clearly the superior team here, and returning home only increases its chances of success, given that it has lost in only one of its six previous official home appearances, and won the last time it hosted Cremonese in the top flight (1-0 in 1996).

Moreover, while Cremonese has scored 10 of its 15 away goals this campaign, this time the team will be facing a defense that has allowed just 6 goals in 10 home matches.

The differences between the two teams are obvious, so we expect the home team to make the difference here, maintaining its defensive solidity and taking advantage of Cremonese’s weaknesses to win.

Prediction: Torino Moneyline (TOR 2-0 CRE).
