The 2022 NBA Finals ended yesterday after the Golden State Warriors beat the Boston Celtics 103-90 at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. After the final buzzer, it was time to celebrate, but Stephen Curry, who was named MVP of the 2022 NBA Finals, had the most reason to do so.

Although the Golden State Warriors have won the NBA championship on four separate occasions over the past eight seasons, this was the first time that Stephen Curry has been awarded MVP, as the previous two were at the hands of his former teammate. Kevin Durant, while the first in 2015 was awarded to Andre Iguodala.

I’ve seen it up close and personal three times. Now, I have the opportunity to take this one home. It’s incredible. It’s pretty amazing. Keep your head down, keep working. Keep walking in your purpose, and good thing happen. You know what I’m talking about? That’s the message.

Stephen Curry

It’s worth mentioning that Curry unanimously won the 2022 NBA Finals MVP award after all 11 panel members voted for him. He was also selected as MVP in the Western Conference finals against the Dallas Mavericks, which shows the excellent postseason that the player had.

Few could argue that Curry did not deserve to be named MVP, as the experienced player was a key component not only in game 6, where he had 34 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and a block, but throughout the series.

During the series against the Boston Celtics, Stephen Curry averaged 31.2 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals per game. He also attempted an average of 11.8 3-pointers per game, shooting 43.7% of them.

With this, Stephen Curry adds a distinction that was missing from his already award-winning NBA career. Curry has won a total of four championships, was named to the All Stars eight times and was also selected to the All-NBA team eight times. In addition to this, he has been MVP in the regular season twice, won the title of top scorer twice and was also All-Star MVP in 2022.
