The Toray Pan Pacific Open 2022 is an upcoming professional women’s tennis tournament to be played on indoor hard courts. It will be the 37th edition of the Pan Pacific Open and it will be part of the WTA 500 tournaments of the WTA Tour 2022.

It will be held at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan, from September 19 to 25, 2022. It will be the first event since 2019 after it was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • The current name of the tournament was designated in 1984 and was traditionally played on the indoor carpet at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. In 2008, the event moved to outdoor hard courts at Ariake Coliseum.
  • Swiss Martina Hingis holds the record for most trophies in this tournament with 5 (1997, 1999, 2000 and 2002).
  • The reigning champion is local Naomi Osaka, who defeated Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-2, 6-3 before the pandemic began.
