The Hungarian GP was held this Sunday, July 31, at the Hungaroring Autodrom, and it was full of surprises since the Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen, made a great comeback to win the race after a bad qualifying.

The Dutchman started from the #10 spot on the grid, but his driving skills and some mistakes made by the other teams opened his way to reach the first place. However, his comeback was not the only good thing in the Hungarian GP: several drivers had interesting competitions in order to score points in this race.

Duel Between Mercedes Drivers at the Hungarian GP 2022

George Russell won the plaudits during qualifying by taking pole position, while Lewis Hamilton had a tough time and was forced to start from seventh on the grid on Sunday.

However, this story changed and the seven-time Formula 1 champion showed his quality on the track. The drivers had a direct duel: Russell was in second position and his teammate was behind him, but on lap 64 Hamilton overtook him and took over the second place on the podium.

Esteban Ocon vs. Fernando Alonso as Teammates

Hungarian GP 2022 - The war with the Alpines

Alpine has two great drivers, Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso, who are ranked #8 and #10 in the drivers’ championship, respectively. However, during each race the internal competition, which is far from being friendly, becomes more evident as it was demonstrated by Red Bull and Ferrari.

In this Hungarian GP, Ocon was competing directly with Alonso on track and they delighted us with good maneuvers. The Frenchman was closing his teammate without measuring his strength, making a beastly defense that made the Spanish driver exploded uncomfortably because of this behaviour.

Daniel Ricciardo’s Maneuver

It was not a good day for Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo who competes with McLaren, but at least we could enjoy his maneuvers on track trying to overtake his rivals. Ricciardo started from position #9, but finished in #15, unable to score points for his team at the Hungarian GP.

He took advantage of the internal duel between Alpine’s Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso and on lap #25, he passed them in a single maneuver.
