The Austrian GP 2022 made moves in the Drivers’ Championship standings, for some it was somewhat beneficial, but for others not so much. Everything that happened at the Red Bull Ring was full of suspense and drama, and if you didn’t get a chance to see the race, here’s a little bit of what happened.

The favorites to win the Austrian GP in the bookmakers were Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. They were not so wrong, as they both made it to the podium and actually took the competition to the extreme on the track.

This season the rivalry is between Red Bull and Ferrari, as they are the best teams. We have seen too much cordiality between Verstappen and Leclerc, despite being in direct competition for the Drivers’ Championship, and this race presented us with yet another chapter in that sporting battle.

Pole position went to the Dutch driver and he started well to be able to hold the lead, but he found a daring and confident Leclerc, who was able to overtake him. The Ferrari driver seized his moment and passed him three times on the track to take the victory, which was his third of the 2022 season.

In addition to the fight for the top positions, a little further back, but not so far behind, we saw the German Mick Schumacher of the Haas team, who started from the ninth position on the grid and had an astonishing race. He has struggled to perform well during his time in Formula 1, but it seems his time has finally come to show what he is made of.

In Sunday’s race, the Spaniard started from position #19, and managed to show his driving skills as he finished in the points. He moved up nine positions, finishing in tenth place.

The comeback as such is not the surprise, but the fact that he had to repeat a pit stop because a wheel was misplaced was what spiced things up.

He fought against Vettel and Tsunoda to improve his position:

He gave everything on the last lap and managed to overtake Valtteri Bottas to score a point in the Austrian GP.
