The Worst Outfits of Latino Athletes in 2022

In the world of sports, awards galas serve to recognize the work of athletes and at the same time to define who have the worst outfits of the night.

Success on the field is no guarantee of receiving good comments from fashion specialists, so in this list we will mention five star athletes who have been recently criticized for their particular bad taste when wearing casual or formal clothes.

Ranking: The worst outfits of athletes

Leo Messi

For many fans, Lionel Messi is the best soccer player in history. However, he has never been praised for his attire, especially when it has been his turn to receive a Ballon d’Or.

Possibly, in terms of numbers (goals and assists), the Argentine will finish his career ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo. But, he will never be able to come close to the Portuguese’s style.

In this list, we are not talking about how good Messi is on the field. We simply believe that the star needs an image consultant to help him show a different look, with more personality.

Saúl Canelo Álvarez

Multiple world boxing champion, Saul Canelo Alvarez, constantly surprises his fans with expensive clothes that have a very unpopular style.

For example, a pair of pajamas worth $2,000 that the Mexican recently wore in a photo he shared on social media. Because the design was similar to cow hide, he became the target of several jokes. In addition, his recent look for a golf event was criticized by some followers on social networks.

Being one of the boxers of the moment is synonymous with millions of dollars, but that doesn’t guarantee being able to dress in a way that people admire and even try to imitate.

Javier Chicharito Hernández

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez is one of the best players in Mexican history, yet he can’t seem to dress correctly.

Being married to a top model and living in Los Angeles was not enough for Hernandez to stand out with a sophisticated and modern look. On the contrary, when the player made public appearances with Sarah Kohan, he was almost always criticized for the way he dressed.

The former Manchester United striker is currently single, and that may be a major reason why he is looking to wear clothes that highlight his physique.

Carlos Vela

Carlos Vela has made MLS history with Los Angeles FC, but his success hasn’t extended to the world of fashion.

Recently, the Mexican star was the target of jokes on social networks due to his 70s style pants. This may have been a joke, rather than intentional, although it is not the first time that the player has made a bad impact with the way he dresses.

Vela, like Javier Hernandez, lived in England before coming to MLS. So it’s really surprising that they don’t have good taste when it comes to how to look good on the street.

Yasiel Puig

Puig is one of the most controversial Latino ballplayers of recent times, something that ended up taking him out of the MLB. He currently plays in the South Korean League.

Off the baseball field, the 31-year-old Cuban always attracts attention with the way he dresses, and that is reason enough to be part of this select group of athletes with a low grade in terms of wardrobe.

The world of sports doesn’t stray too far from fashion, especially when we’re talking about stars who amass millions of followers on their Instagram accounts.

Many sportsmen with odd dressing choices were left off the list, but we only looked at the worst-dressed Latino athletes with the most social media following.
