The 15th week of the MLS was played between Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June, with several good goals. However, some stood out more than others, because of the previous plays or simply because of how they were scored.
Inspiration combined with talent allows footballers to create true works of art that we as spectators can enjoy.
Best Goals in MLS Week 15
1. Luiz Araujo – Atlanta United
Atlanta United beat Inter Miami 2-0 in MLS Week 15, with the opening goal coming from Brazil’s Luiz Araújo. At minute 4, he sent the ball to the nets after receiving the ball in the crescent of the area and taking a tremendous shot with his left leg.
2. Deiber Caicedo – Vancouver Whitecaps
The Colombian Déiber Caicedo showed off with a great goal in the victory of the Vancouver Whitecaps 0-2 against FC Dallas. He took advantage of a foul charged to the Canadian team on the outskirts of the small area, outlined himself and shot with his right leg to leave the rival goalkeeper without a chance; who, although guessing the destination of the ball, was not able to prevent it from entering the goal. This goal is one of the best of Week 15 in MLS.
3. Graham Zusi – Sporting Kansas City
Sporting Kansas City defeated Nashville SC at home by a score of 1-2. Felipe Hernández scored the first in the 41st minute, but the game’s goal was scored by Graham Zusi. The American took the ball and took a few steps, saw that the box was packed with players and opted to cut back and shoot straight at goal. His shot was impossible to stop for the goalkeeper.
4. Luquinhas – New York Red Bulls
Luquinhas was involved with a goal in the Red Bulls’ 2-0 victory over Toronto FC. His goal closed the scoring in the 56th minute, but it wasn’t just any goal. The rival goalkeeper had already tried to prevent the ball from entering his goal a play earlier, but to his misfortune, the rebound was left to the Brazilian player, who only placed himself so that his shot could easily overcome those who were in the area.
5. Brandon Vazquez – Cincinnati
Brandon Vázquez scored the goal with which Cincinnati equalized the scoreboard at the match with the Philadelphia Union. The striker was in the area waiting for a corner kick to be collected, and although the ball did not reach him on the first play, he kept going. The ball approached him and his decision was to dive near the first post to be able to hit and score the goal for his team. The tough accomplishment ended up being one of the best goals in MLS during Week 15.
