MLS Week 23 had 12 matches scheduled, but in the end only 11 were played between Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31, due to the rescheduling of the Charlotte FC vs Columbus Crew match. This Matchday in the MLS did not disappoint: it was loaded with goals.

The goal is always the special guest at soccer games, and while three games went scoreless this weekend, the rest of the games were successful. A total of 34 goals were scored, just three fewer than in Week 22 of the MLS.

At JefeBet, we searched for the best 5 goals of Week 23 of the MLS. Here’s the list we have compiled for you, in case you didn’t have the chance to follow the games of this past week.

MLS Week 23 – Best Goals of the Week

Junior Urso – Orlando City

The Brazilian player gave Orlando City the lead in the 9th minute, and although it was D.C. United who finally won 2-1, his goal is one of the best of the day. He received the ball, realized that the goalkeeper was ahead of him, and sent his shot past the keeper.

Luis Amarilla – Minnesota United

Paraguay’s Luis Amarilla was also among those who were praised in this Week 23 of the MLS, in the goal fest that occurred in the 4-4 tie between Minnesota United and Portland Timbers. The player drove the ball down the left flank, headed into the box, took out an opponent, and ripped a right-footed shot to make it 3-1 in Minnesota’s favor at the time.

Jasper Löffelsend – Real Salt Lake

Germany’s Jasper Löffelsend had a great performance in the 2-2 draw between San Jose Earthquakes and Real Salt Lake. He was the scorer of RSL’s first goal in this match. The player received the ball and at full speed went straight to the goal. The goalkeeper came out to try to save the ball, and he decided to kick it into the goal and send it into the net.

Jack McGlynn – Philadelphia Union

Nineteen-year-old Philadelphia Union midfielder Jack McGlynn scored his first MLS goal, and it was no ordinary strike. He took a free kick and used the full force of his right leg to drive the ball into the goal. It was a great goal that gave a 2-0 lead to his team, which eventually ended up defeating the Houston Dynamo by a score of 6-0.

Gonzalo Higuaín – Inter Miami

Someone who had a party of his own in Week 23 was Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuaín, who could just as easily be named “Golazo” (meaning “amazing goal”) Higuaín. The player shined in the 4-4 draw between Inter Miami and Cincinnati, scoring three of his team’s four goals. The first of his goals was a real gem: he took a free kick with his right foot and unleashed a power shot that the opposing goalkeeper couldn’t stop.
