Kevin De Bruyne scored four goals in Manchester City’s 5-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and one of his celebrations was dedicated to the man who will be his teammate next season: Erling Haaland.
Today, the Citizens picked up three more points and remain at the top of the Premier League with two games left to play. At the moment, they are three points ahead from their closest rival, Liverpool. It was Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne who stood out, as he played a key role in the match, scoring a haul of goals. It could have been five goals, but unfortunately the last shot hit the goal frame.
We are aware of Kevin De Bruyne’s talent, and it’s no surprise that he’s scoring goals for Manchester United. What is surprising, however, is how he celebrated one of his goals. This week it was revealed that Norwegian striker Erling Haaland will be a City player next season, and this piece of news seems to have De Bruyne pretty excited, as he decided to celebrate one of his goals Haaland style.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring in the 7th minute. The Wolves’ response came quickly from Leander Dendoncker, who scored his goal in the 11th minute. In the 16th minute, the Belgian scored his second goal of the match and in the 24th minute he completed his hat-trick.
How did Kevin De Bruyne celebrate?
In the celebration of the third goal, De Bruyne made the meditation gesture that Haaland is known for, and we believe it was his way of welcoming his next teammate.
City’s #17 scored once more in the 60th minute and his teammate, Raheem Sterling, sealed the 5-1 win.
The Norwegian player usually takes his time in his celebrations, and calmly sits on the grass in a meditative position.
De Bruyne’s impersonation may not have been flawless, but it did demonstrate his eagerness to play with the young talent who has thrived in German soccer with Borussia Dortmund and is expected to do so soon in the Premier League with the “Citizens.”
The future is uncertain, but after learning that De Bruyne is waiting anxiously for Haaland, City fans will be thinking of Pep Guardiola’s phrase when he began his journey with FC Barcelona: “Fasten your seatbelts, we’ll have a good time”.
