VIDEO: Player and Coach of the Chicago White Sox Have an Altercation in the Middle of the Game

The atmosphere in the Chicago White Sox is not being the best this season after a disappointing performance so far in this 2022 MLB campaign, and this seems to be transcending the mood of the team, or so it can be perceived after the episode starring pitcher Lance Lynn and third base coach Joe McEwing.

The two were seen having an argument in the dugout during Monday’s game between the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers, two division rivals in the AL Central.

The argument came after the Tigers took a 3-2 lead in the top of the third inning after a poor start by Lance Lynn, who was making his season debut after missing the season opener with a knee injury. By that time, Lynn had already allowed 7 hits and 3 runs and had only struck out two batters, although the right-hander commented after the game on the reason for the “argument” and, in his words, it had nothing to do with the game.

He was trying to get me going. He kept telling me that filet is better than rib eye. I’m more of a rib eye-and-potatoes guy. He’s a filet and, like, Caesar salad. I just told him he was wrong, and then he went back to coaching third.

Lynn finished his performance allowing 10 hits and 3 runs in 4.1 innings, but the team managed to recover to win the game 9-5.

The Chicago White Sox in the Eye of the Storm

It is not the first mishap to occur with the Chicago White Sox in recent weeks, with this incident occurring just days after the team’s own fans chanted “Fire Tony” (Tony La Russa) during a game at the Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago.

The White Sox are currently in third place in their division and with more than five games separating them from the top of it, something unthinkable at the beginning of the season for a team that was destined to dominate and be a candidate to go far in the postseason.
