When we say that sports and, in this case, baseball is an example for thousands of children in the world, what happened this Wednesday with Luis García, starter for the Houston Astros, confirms it.

The story begins with Charlie Spring, a nine-year-old boy who went viral in recent days after the KHOU11 channel, from the city of Houston, interviewed him for the perfect imitation of the Venezuelan starter’s wind up during his little league games.

After several days of “design”, as FOX26 journalist Mark Berman points out, Astros catcher Martín Maldonado managed to contact Charlie’s family so that he could meet with his idol Luis, who is in his third campaign with the organization.

In addition to the wonderful meeting, which filled the face of little Charlie with a big smile, the Astros invited him to carry out several activities.

The first one was taking batting practice with Maldonado and other players, and the second one was the most special of all: throwing out the first pitch of Wednesday’s game against the Cleveland Indians.

Thanks to this opportunity, Charlie wore his Astros shirt and made the ceremonial pitch together with the popular wind up of Luis García, who was the catcher on duty.

The day continued with Charlie attending the game with several family members, who encouraged his great visit to Minute Maid Park, the home of the Astros.

What’s more, it closed with another 2-1 victory for the Astros against Cleveland, thus maintaining the leadership of the American League West Division and the eternal affection of young Charlie.
