The Golden State Warriors decided to rule James Wiseman out for the remainder of the 2021-22 NBA campaign, according to ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski.

It was expected that the 20-year-old center could recover from his right knee injury before the end of the regular round, however the Californian team prefers to carry out his rehabilitation without haste, thinking that he can possibly assume the role of starting center in the next season.

With Wiseman’s final absence, it will be key for Draymond Green to stay healthy for Golden State to maintain its real chances of returning to the NBA Finals.

Notwithstanding, it’s not all negative for the team playing at San Francisco’s Chase Center, as Stephen Curry is no longer wearing the special boot because of his left foot injury and that’s a positive sign that he’s on the right track to meet his goal of getting back into action before the start of the playoffs.

In general terms, the situation of the team led by Steve Kerr is complex due to the physical problems of several of their figures, and that translates into a recent irregularity that has caused them to drop to third place in the Western Conference, with a record of 48 wins and 26 losses.

Wiseman has just 39 games in the NBA, where he averages 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, with 51.9% on field goals and 31.6% on three-point shots.

The player taken in the second pick overall of the 2020 draft, in his first year in the NBA showed good things, although his physical problems have evidently slowed his evolution in professional basketball, after registering a brilliant performance in college basketball with the Memphis Tigers.

In the coming weeks, new information should be available about the recovery of this young player, who has a height of 7′0″.
