Barack Obama’s Summer Playlist became a habit for the former President of the United States, which he has kept up till this day. Every summer, this charming American politician reveals which songs on his summer playlist correspond to each of his summer moods.

Barack Obama’s 2022 Summer Playlist : Are There Latinos Featured in It?

This playlist has always surprised some people, who have noticed that the former US president has a very broad musical taste, connected to the sounds that are usually pleasant and “danceable,”. This relates to artists all over the world.

Will there be any Latin American artists among these 44 songs?

That’s right, in the first image with the first 22 songs of Barack Obama’s Summer Playlist, we can find the song “Ojitos Lindos” by Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny in collaboration with the Colombian alternative group Bomba Estéreo. These were the only Latin artists that made it into the former president’s summer playlist.

Obama expressed how excited he is to share these lists each year, accompanying the two images of the playlist with some text:

“Every year, I get excited to share my summer playlist because I learn about so many new artists from your replies.”

On the other hand, we can highlight that another singer who, although not Latin, is part of Hispanic music and who experiments, especially in her latest album, with the Latin rhythms of dembow/reggaeton, bachata, among others. We’re talking about Rosalía with her song “Saoko”, a single from her latest studio album “MOTOMAMI”.

Obama has demonstrated his ability to listen to a wide range of genres, as he added to his list, in addition to Bad Bunny and Rosalia, who are, let’s say, a little further away geographically, the famous pop diva Beyoncé with her song “Break My Soul.”

The American politician also took the time in his message to emphasize how essential music is to him and how significant the interaction of his followers is when it comes to learning new rhythms and artists, assuring that he pays attention to each recommendation.

He also stated that sharing this summer playlist, expressing what other people like, and seeing how many people agree with him on musical choices, can act as a glue connecting people who may be quite different. Says Obama: “It’s an example of how music can really bring us all together. He concludes: “This is what I’ve been listening to this summer. What songs would you add?”

Among the artists you can also find Harry Styles, Lil Yachty, Drake, Rihanna, among others.
