Jesús Ferreira had a brilliant performance over the weekend with FC Dallas, and after scoring three goals and also providing an assist, he was named MLS Player of The Week 4.

The Santa Marta, Colombia-born but naturalized American earned the perseverance award as he has started all four games of the season, but it was in the most recent one that he managed to shine in a greatly participating in the four goals of his team that beat the Portland Timbers 4-1 in Week 4 of MLS.

Jesús Ferreira was called up with the United States National Team to face the last matches of the hexagonal final of Concacaf in search of a pass to the World Cup in Qatar 2022 and it seems that was the motivation he needed.

It is not only the fact that he scored a hat-trick in the match, but he scored in a span of 10 minutes in the first half of the match, and he still had the energy to continue going in front in the second half, where he assisted Paul Arriola to score the fourth final goal.

The #10 of the Texas franchise became the MLS Player of Week 4 after the vote of the fans and the press so decided.

Continental Tire is the sponsor in charge of presenting the Player of the Week after the vote count is done by MLS Communications. Journalists from North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) give 75% of the vote, while the remaining 25% belongs to the fan vote via Twitter.

Jesús Ferreira is taking advantage of the opportunity he is being given as the leader of FC Dallas’ offense following Ricardo Pepi’s departure to Bundesliga side FC Augsburg.

He is a key piece in the scheme of coach Nico Estévez and now has a new challenge on the door with the U.S. National Team.

He will try to keep that good performance during the FIFA Date so as to be taken into account among the main attacking options of the USMNT in their next matches against Mexico, Panama, and Costa Rica.

On the FIFA Date last January, Jesús Ferreira had the opportunity to add minutes with the Stars and Stripes squad. He played 72 minutes against El Salvador and provided an assist to win by a score of 1-0.Despite having had a good performance in the first clash, he remained on the bench for the duel against Canada, against which the United States lost 2-0. He again had minutes coming on as a change in the match against Honduras, but he was not aggressive enough

So far, Jesús Ferreira has participated in seven games with the United States National Team and has scored two goals.
