The British GP did not disappoint Formula 1 fans, as it turned out to be one of the best and most exciting races in the 2022 season so far.
The race of the British GP had a bit of everything, for some it was more than a success, while for others it was a complete disaster.
Here’s what the British GP had to offer.
1.- Carlos Sainz’s Victory
Carlos Sainz had already surprised by taking pole position on Saturday, and surprised even more when he took victory at Silverstone. Ferrari‘s strategy this time did not fail, and they were able to take advantage of the fact that their driver started from the front of the grid. The pit stops occurred in very good timing, and the Spaniard rewarded his team with a great drive. In this way, Sainz achieved his first victory in the highest category of motor racing.
The podium was completed by Checo Pérez and Lewis Hamilton, in second and third place, respectively.
2.- Checo Pérez’s Comeback and Podium Finish
Mexican driver, Sergio “Checo” Pérez, was voted the driver of the day after the end of the British Grand Prix race. Pérez moved up 15 positions, as he managed to move up from 17th position to take second place and register his sixth podium finish of the season.
This 2022 has been a dream year for the Mexican, who is in second place in the Drivers’ Championship with 147 points.
3.- Another Podium for Lewis Hamilton
Britain’s Lewis Hamilton has regained the formula to return to the top. This Sunday, July 3, he had an outstanding participation in the Grand Prix held in his homeland and managed to finish in third place.
Not only that, but he also recorded the fastest lap with a time of 1:30.510. He has been on the podium three times this season and all have been third places.
4.- The First Points for Mick Schumacher
German driver Mick Schumacher, who competes for the Haas team, has had a terrible start to the season. He has suffered heavy accidents, disqualifications and has found it difficult to find himself in the points places. However, at Silverstone the drought ended, and he scored his first points. He finished in eighth place and earned his first four units.
5.- The Terrifying Accident
And while there was a lot going on at the British GP, the most talked about and will be talked about for the next few days is the freak accident.
There was an accident involving five cars: Albon’s Williams, Guanyu Zhou’s Alfa Romeo, George Russell’s Mercedes, Tsunoda’s Alpha Tauri, and Ocon’s Alpine.
Fortunately, everyone was unharmed, but the biggest concern was caused by Guanyu Zhou’s crash on the track.
