The UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada, was in charge of hosting the latest UFC Fight Night event. Now we head to the western United States, specifically to the city of San Diego, where the Pechanga Arena will host this weekend’s mixed martial arts action.
The main protagonist of the weekend is the Vera vs Cruz fight, but there are other fights that will be worth watching, and here at JefeBet we will briefly review each of them.
Betting Preview for UFC Fight Night Featuring Marlon Vera vs Dominick Cruz and Other Big Cards on August 13 2022
Marlon Vera (-225) vs Dominick Cruz (+190)
Bantamweight
This UFC headlining bout will be Marlon Vera vs Dominick Cruz, two well-ranked bantamweight contenders looking to stay in contention for the division’s title.
Marlon Vera has fought and defeated great opponents in his last few fights, leaving behind names like Rob Font, Frankie Edgar and Davey Grant. Vera will be measured against a Dominick Cruz who is looking to get back to his best after a four-year absence between 2016 and 2020.
For this bout, we are predicting a winner for Cruz, who has been champion twice in the division and who at 37 years of age could make his experience count.
Prediction: Dominick Cruz.

Nate Landwehr (+265) vs David Onama (-285)
Featherweight
After not being able to face each other in March, Landwehr and Onama will finally meet in San Diego in this new UFC event.
Landwehr has alternated between winning and losing in the beginning of his UFC career, and his last result was a submission victory over Ludovit Klein. So, considering his tendency, he could lose in this bout.
David Onama is coming off back-to-back wins after making his UFC debut with a loss, and we think he has what it takes to pick up a third straight win.
Prediction: David Onama.

Yazmin Jauregui (-210) vs Iasmin Lucindo (+180)
Female Strawweight
One of the night’s two women’s bouts will pit Yazmin Jauregui and Iasmin Lucindo, with the former putting her undefeated career to the test against the latter in what will be both fighters’ UFC debuts.
Although Lucindo has lost four fights in her career, she comes into this bout with a streak of seven consecutive victories, and with several kilos of advantage over her competitor. However, it will be the first time she faces an opponent of the caliber of the Mexican, who we believe can take the victory but not without a scare in between.
Prediction: Yazmin Jauregui.

Devin Clark (+130) vs Azamat Murzakanov (-140)
Medium-heavyweight
Devin Clark will be looking to continue his redemption after two consecutive losses –his last performance was a knockout win over William Knight. However, he will not have an easy task as he will be facing Russian Azamat Murzakanov, who is undefeated in his 11-fight career.
However, only one of those fights was in the UFC, winning in his debut by knockout over Tafon Nchukwi. With Clark’s experience, we believe he could have what it takes to make it two wins in a row.
Prediction: Devin Clark.

Ariane Lipski (-200) vs Priscila Cachoeira (+160)
Female Bantamweight
Both Ariane Lipski and Priscila Cachoeira have not had the best time in the UFC lately, as both fighters failed to find consistency. Both have a 3-4-0 record, but both come in having been victorious in their last fight, which gives them some breathing room as they try to put together a positive streak again.
This is probably the most unpredictable fight of the night due to the erratic performance of both fighters, but when in doubt, we’ll go with the one who hits harder: Cachoeira. Lipski has good footwork and a lot of agility, but a single punch from Cachoeira could be enough to end the fight.
Prediction: Priscila Cachoeira.

Gerald Meerschaert (+235) vs Bruno Silva (-300)
Medium weight
Meerschaert failed to record a fourth consecutive win in his last outing, losing a unanimous decision to Krzysztof Jotko in late April, and will have another tough test ahead of him when he takes on Bruno Silva.
Silva also comes in after experiencing his first UFC loss in March when he also lost by unanimous decision to Alex Pereira, although he won his three previous fights and for this bout we believe he could get back on the winning track.
Prediction: Bruno Silva.
