The Player of the ML WeekS for Matchday 25 was awarded to one of the best individual performers of the weekend. Thanks to his work, he helped his team to achieve the victory. The voting for this award depended on the group of journalists and also on the fans, but of the four final candidates, only one could be the winner: Alejandro Pozuelo.
Spanish striker Alejandro Pozuelo changed teams during the recent transfer window. He left the club that brought him to MLS Toronto FC, to join Inter Miami. Some might think that the player needed time to adapt, but that was a matter of a few weeks and now he seems to be at his best with the Florida squad.
His performance in Week 25 of the MLS, allows him to be the Player of the Week, because he helped the team to defeat New York City FC by a score of 3-2. Alejandro Pozuelo participated in all three of his team’s goals, scoring two of them and assisting the other.

NYC FC took the lead in the 34th minute, but Alejandro Pozuelo appeared five minutes later to level the score at 1-1. One of his teammates noticed that he was about to enter the area unmarked and decided to pass him the ball, and right on the edge of the area, he dared to take a powerful right-footed shot to score a great goal.
When everyone thought that the match would end in a 2-2 draw, the Spaniard once again made his presence felt with this goal that gave the Miami team the victory. Pozuelo took advantage of a mistake by an opposing defender who tried to delay the ball to the goalkeeper, so he ran to steal the ball and make it 3-2.
Pozuelo records a total of six goals and eight assists this season, but of those numbers, two goals and three assists are part of his time with Inter Miami.
After receiving Player of the Week honors, Pozuelo became the third Inter Miami player to receive the award this 2022 season, as Leonardo Campana was the Player of the Week 6, while Gonzalo Higuaín was the Player of the Week 23.
