Predictions and Betting Previews for all 2022 NFL Week 6 Games

Washington Commanders (-105) vs Chicago Bears (-115) / Thursday, October 13 / 8:15 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Commanders Spread: +1.0.
  • Bears Spread: -1.0.
  • Over/Under: 38.

NFL Week 6 kicks off next Thursday with a crucial clash between the Commanders and the Bears.

Washington is coming off its fourth straight loss after blowing a prime opportunity to rebound against the Titans. Carson Wentz had one of his best games of the season, but for the third week in a row, the Commanders failed to score more than 20 points. The defense got the job done against Tennessee’s good offense, but it still wasn’t matched by its own offense.

Thursday’s game provides an excellent opportunity for the Bears to address some defensive issues, particularly on the ground. Last week, the Vikings took advantage of Chicago’s ground defense struggles to put together a late offensive series that resulted in a win. Against the Commanders, one of the teams with the worst yards per carry average, it could be a good night for progress. Of course, in order for that to happen, the offense must react, which is not guaranteed.

San Francisco 49ers (-250) vs Atlanta Falcons (+200) / Sunday, October 16 / 1:00 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Odds
  • 49ers Spread: -5.5
  • Falcons Spread: +5.5.
  • Over/Under: 43

The NFC West leaders, the 49ers, will visit a solid Falcons team to kick off Sunday’s games.

Thanks to the best defense so far this season, the San Francisco team took over the division lead last weekend by defeating the Panthers. Jimmy Garoppolo led a 37-point offense with 253 yards through the air and two TD passes. That was more than enough for the defense, which allowed the fewest points, along with the Bills (61), to do the rest.

As for the Falcons, they are coming off a very important game against the Buccaneers and need to win at home to stay close to the postseason spots. Atlanta was held back for three quarters before responding with 15 points in the fourth, which wasn’t enough. The team also has one of the best rushing games in the league, but the 49ers allowed only three yards per carry, the fewest in the league.

New England Patriots (+135) vs Cleveland Browns (-164) / Sunday, October 16 / 1:00 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Patriots Spread: +3.0.
  • Browns Spread: -3.0.
  • Over/Under: 42.5

If the Patriots and Browns want to keep dreaming of fighting for a postseason spot, this Sunday’s game is vital for them.

The New England team returned to playing defense like in Bill Belichick’s best days and achieved their second shutout of the season by defeating the Lions 29-0. What is most impressive about this win is that it happened on the road against one of the best offenses in 2022. While Bailey Zappe didn’t stand out with 118 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, the Patriots kicked five field goals and returned a fumble 59 yards for their greatest performance of the season.

For their part, the Browns lost a very painful game: down 30-28 in the fourth period, Jacoby Brissett threw an interception and on the next offensive series missed a field goal that would have given them the win. While the Browns’ offense is one of the best in the league, which bodes well against the Patriots, their defense is also among the worst in the league, allowing the eighth most points.

Prediction: Over.

New York Jets (+260) vs Green Bay Packers (-345) / Sunday, October 16 / 1:00 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Jets Spread: +7.0.
  • Packers Spread: -7.0.
  • Over/Under: 46.

The Jets and Packers had diametrically opposed weekends, as New York celebrated a big win that keeps their playoff hopes alive, while Green Bay surrendered the NFC North lead.

The return of Zack Wilson at quarterback for the Jets has resulted in two consecutive wins that have them just one game behind the Bills. Last week, their victims were the struggling Dolphins, who conceded 40 points thanks to 210 yards from Wilson and 135 yards on the ground from a running back corps that totaled five TDs

As for the Packers, they lost a 10-point lead in London to the Giants. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers were only able to score two points in the second half, on a safety, which brought up some doubts again about Green Bay’s offensive capabilities. Of course, the Jets defense is not the same as the Giants, but the doubts remain.

Prediction: Under.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+110) vs Indianapolis Colts (-135) / Sunday, October 16 / 1:00 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Jaguars Spread: +2.0.
  • Colts Spread: -2.0.
  • Over/Under: 42.

The Jaguars and Colts won’t have to wait long to meet for the second time this season when they square off this Sunday in an important matchup for the future of the AFC South.

Jacksonville, one of the teams with the most progress this season, showed last weekend that its biggest problem is the inconsistency of its play by losing 6-13 to the Texans. While their defense continues to get the job done, as it did in Week 2 when they kept the Colts to a 0-21 score, two intercepted passes from Trevor Lawrence outshone 422 total yards of offense.

As for the Colts, they are coming off a terrible overtime win over the Broncos, 12-9, in which neither team scored a touchdown. With two more turnovers to Denver, the Indianapolis offense now has 11 on the season, ranking third in the league. Matt Ryan still hasn’t reacted, with 261 yards through the air and two interceptions, while the defense had its best night.

Prediction: Under.

Minnesota Vikings (-154) vs Miami Dolphins (+130) / Sunday, October 16 / 1:00 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Vikings Spread: -3.0.
  • Dolphins Spread: +3.0.
  • Over/Under: 45.5.

Although the Vikings and Dolphins have positive records, both teams are in very different situations, and it doesn’t look like that will change in Week 6,

With a come-from-behind win over the Bears, Minnesota dawned Monday as the lone leader in the tough NFC North. After being held scoreless the entire second half, Kirk Cousins and company won for the third consecutive week with a touchdown in the final five minutes of the game. Against Chicago, they topped 400 total yards for the first time, while the defense allowed less than 300 for the first time in 2022.

As for the Dolphins, Miami’s situation is very delicate. In addition to the loss of Tua Tagovailoa, last week, against the Jets, they lost Teddy Bridgewater also to a concussion. Now the burden lies on rookie Skylar Thompson, who totaled just 166 yards and an interception at New York. As for the defense, with the 40 points conceded against the Jets, they have the fourth-highest number of points allowed on the year, which is not a good thing before facing the Vikings.

Prediction: Vikings to win.

Cincinnati Bengals (-130) vs New Orleans Saints (+110) / Sunday, October 16 / 1:00 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Bengals Spread: -1.5.
  • Spread Saints: +1.5.
  • Over/Under: 43.5

The Bengals and Saints have had a very different start to the season than they expected, and a win this Sunday will bring their record to .500.

Cincinnati nearly beat the Ravens on the road when they scored a touchdown with 1:58 minutes left that put them up 17-16. However, a last-second field goal spoiled the party for Joe Burrow and company, who scored less than 20 points for the second time in 2022. The defense reacted for the third time in a row, conceding less than 20 goals, while the offense has suffered significantly.

As for the Saints, they managed to pull out a 39-32 win against the poor Seahawks’ defense. Despite being without Jameis Winston and Michael Taylor, backup quarterback Andy Dalton did a good job, but the star was running back Taysom Hill, who not only rushed for 112 yards with three TDs, but also threw a 22-yard touchdown pass. On the defensive side of the ball, the team continues to fall short, as after projecting to be one of the best in the league, it has allowed the fifth most points this year.

Prediction: Over.

Baltimore Ravens (-227) vs New York Giants (+180) / Sunday, October 16 / 1:00 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Ravens Spread: -5.0.
  • Spread Giants: +5.0.
  • Over/Under: 45

Two of the best teams this season meet this Sunday when the Ravens visit the Giants in New York City.

Baltimore is coming off a big win over the Bengals, which came down to a Justin Tucker field goal as the clock from the fourth quarter buzzed. While their ground game plays a key role, the difference versus Cincinnati seemed to be that they allowed less than 300 total yards and less than 200 yards through the air for the first time, both against Joe Burrow.

Meanwhile, the Giants pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the week by defeating the Packers in London. While their offensive isn’t the best in the league, they came from behind in the second half to stay within one game of the Eagles in the NFC East. Of course, this comeback was supported by a defense that allowed no points in the second half (the two Packers points came on a safety) and is ninth in the league regarding points conceded.

Prediction: Giants Spread.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-345) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (+275) / Sunday, October 16 / 1:00 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Buccaneers Spread: -8.5.
  • Steelers Spread: +8.5.
  • Over/Under: 43.5

One of the most lopsided matchups in Week 6 of the NFL season will be the Buccaneers vs Steelers.

With some controversy, Tampa Bay ended up defeating the Falcons and took over the lead in the NFC South. After two consecutive losses, Tom Brady completed 35 of 52 passes for 351 yards and a touchdown, and the Bucs returned to winning ways. But the triumph wasn’t all due to Tom Brady: the defense returned to form, allowing 15 points or fewer for the fourth time and less than 265 total yards for the second time.

For their part, the Steelers are going from bad to worse. The Pittsburgh team fell for the fourth consecutive time as they were crushed 38-3 by the Bills. While, for the fourth time, the offense failed to score more than 20 points, the defensive performance was truly troubling, allowing 552 yards, 432 of them via the air. This is certainly not encouraging if we consider they’ll be playing against one of the best quarterbacks in history, Tom Brady.

Prediction: Buccaneers Spread.

Carolina Panthers (+375) vs Los Angeles Rams (-500) / Sunday, October 16 / 4:05 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Panthers Spread: +11.0.
  • Spread Rams -11.0.
  • Over/Under: 40.5

In a matchup of teams looking to get back to winning ways this Sunday, the Panthers will visit the reigning NFL champions, the Rams.

As if the Panthers’ offensive issues weren’t bad enough, QB Baker Mayfield will be out for a few weeks after injuring his ankle against the 49ers. This time, P.J. Walker will be in charge of guiding an offense that failed to score more than 16 points for the third time this year and recorded more than 300 yards for the first time with 308 against San Francisco. The defense has also struggled, allowing more than 26 points for the third time.

As for the reigning champions, the Rams, their situation is starting to worry everyone as they have failed to surpass 10 points for the third time this season. While the defense once again did a decent job of conceding less than 300 total yards, Matthew Stafford has been terrible on offense, throwing his seventh interception of the year to co-lead the category with Carson Wentz.

Prediction: Rams Spread.

Arizona Cardinals (-149) vs Seattle Seahawks (+125) / Sunday, October 16 / 4:05 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Cardinals Spread: -3.0.
  • Spread Seahawks: +3.0.
  • Over/Under: 51.

Cardinals and Seahawks will meet this weekend with a chance to finish the day as co-leaders of the NFC West with a win.

Arizona is coming off its third loss of the season after missing a field goal in the final seconds of the game that at least tied the score against the Eagles. The Cardinals defense did a good job of holding back Philadelphia’s high-powered offense, but Kyler Murray continues to struggle and for the third time this year threw for 250 yards or fewer.

Despite losing running back Rashaad Penny for the rest of the season, the Seahawks have one of the greatest offenses in the league in Geno Smith and company. Smith added his fourth game with more than two TD passes, but the problem is that Seattle’s defense is one of the worst in the league, averaging 8.2 yards allowed per pass, the highest figure in the league, and 5.0 yards per carry, the fifth highest.

Prediction: Under.

Buffalo Bills (-145) vs Kansas City Chiefs (+120) / Sunday, October 16 / 4:25 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Bills Spread: -3.0.
  • Spread Chiefs: +3.0.
  • Over/Under: 54.

In what could easily be the best matchup of NFL Week 6 action, the Bills will visit the Chiefs in a repeat of last season’s AFC Divisional Round battle, both teams favorites to win the Super Bowl this season.

Despite their Week 3 loss to the Dolphins, Buffalo remains the favorite to win the championship with a flawless defense and an offense that shows no mercy to any opponent. The Bills totaled 552 yards and scored 30 points for the third time this season in the game against the Steelers. They only allowed three touchdowns on defense, while Miami was the club that scored the fewest points against them (21).

For their part, the Chiefs are no slouches, and they are coming off a great comeback against the Raiders on Monday Night Football. Patrick Mahomes was the offensive leader, throwing for 292 yards and four touchdown passes, all to tight end Travis Kelce. And while their defense is not as efficient as the Bills’, their offense has nothing to envy Josh Allen and company.

Prediction: Over.

Dallas Cowboys (+200) vs Philadelphia Eagles (-250) / Sunday, October 16 / 8:20 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Cowboys Spread: +4.5.
  • Eagles Spread -4.5.
  • Over/Under: 42.

Along with Bills-Chiefs, this Sunday Night Football game between Cowboys and Eagles is one of the most anticipated games of NFL Week 6.

Although Dak Prescott is unlikely to make it in time for the game, the Dallas defense has ensured that the team won’t miss its star quarterback in leading them to four straight wins. Cooper Rush has done well, and the defense is third in the league in terms of points allowed. Meanwhile, his 20 catches are second in the league. They are also coming off of dropping 10 points to the Rams and haven’t allowed more than 20 in all of 2022.

For their part, the Eagles, the season’s only unbeaten club, will defend their NFC East lead at home against the Cowboys, who are one game behind in second place. Under Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia has not scored fewer than 20 points in any of its first five games and its defense is co-leading in average yards allowed through the air per pass and interceptions with 4.6 and 11, respectively.

Prediction: Eagles to win.

Denver Broncos (+200) vs Los Angeles Chargers (-250) / Monday, October 17 / 8:15 PM E.T.

NFL Week 6 Predictions Betting Odds
  • Broncos Spread: -5.5.
  • Chargers Spread: +5.5.
  • Over/Under: 45.5.

NFL Week 6 closes out two AFC West rivals, the Broncos vs Chargers, as Monday Night Football headliners.

Denver is coming off an awful loss on Thursday Night Football in Week 5, losing 12-9 to the Colts in a game that went to overtime and in both teams failed to score any touchdowns. The arrival of Russell Wilson hasn’t been what was expected and with 75 points scored they are the second-lowest scorers in the league. The hope in Denver is that their defense is regarded as one of the best in the league, and that if the offense can respond, the victories will follow.

It is also vital for the Chargers to win at home, especially considering that the Chiefs could lose to the Bills and tie them at the top of the division. Plagued by injuries on offense and defense, the Los Angeles team has managed to come out on top in the last two weeks with very close results. While they have scored more than 24 points four times, they have also conceded more than 24 on four occasions also.

Prediction: Under.
