DeShaun Watson Makes an Appearance With the Browns Despite an Uncertain Future

The arrival of DeShaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns caused a stir in the league, not only because a high-level quarterback would change teams, but because of all the problems that the player has had in recent times and that he brought with him to Cleveland, something that the franchise did not seem to care much about when it came to taking over his services.

DeShaun Watson joined the Browns in March, signing a $230 million contract — the most lucrative in all of league history — and did some practice on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the NFL continues to investigate a case against him, in which Watson allegedly engaged in sexual misconduct with masseuses during his stay in Houston.

During Tuesday night, two of them spoke on national television about the case, giving quite graphic testimonies of what happened with the quarterback. The player, though, seems to be ignoring an issue that could affect his career, and Browns board members also appear to be turning a deaf ear to the issue at hand.

After the two women’s testimony, Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski was asked for his comments, but he indicated he hadn’t seen the interview.

I read about it. We did a lot of work on that as we talked about it. We did a lot of work with DeShaun and there are legal proceedings underway. There is an investigation in progress, so I won’t comment much more than that. We respectfully understand this, and it is something we will deal with as proceedings continue.

The coach’s statements have some truths, as the team will continue to deal with this type of controversy as a result of their decision to bring in a quarterback who is embroiled in a slew of legal issues.

Is DeShaun Watson “buying” his teammates on the Cleveland Browns?

Despite the problems in his surroundings, Deshaun Watson has shown a totally different face to his teammates in his new team, and they have appreciated the player’s gestures and mentioned that he is not the subject media want to make people see, although some of them are still dissatisfied after the arrival of the quarterback.

After practice, Watson appeared in front of the media to present a gift to Anthony Walker Jr., who presented the team’s #4 to the quarterback upon word of his arrival. Walker Jr. did not open the gift in front of the media, but he did have a few words about his new partner.

He does a good job of coming every day and taking non-sport topics out of his working life, and he comes and concentrates on football while he’s here. I can’t speak about anything else, but I know when he’s here, he’s focused and happy to be back in the game, and we’re happy to have him as quarterback.

Watson has been looking to quickly integrate with his new teammates on the Cleveland Browns, and last week he took more than 24 of them on a trip to the Bahamas to bond.

Team running back Nick Chubb said “it’s great to have him on the team” and that everyone loves him and his leadership will be very helpful. However, we will have to see what the future holds for him once this investigation is over, since he might not get a single minute of play in the upcoming NFL season.
