The European soccer transfer window is open throughout the summer. Every day there are moves, even if we are unaware of them, as we are usually waiting to read or hear about important players who are still available on the market.

After taking vacations, players are rejoining their teams and some are still waiting to find a new home.

Here are the latest movements, together with news and rumors about this European transfer window.

European Transfer Market – July 14, 2022

Mesut Özil stays in Turkey, changes team

German midfielder Mesut Özil will not change leagues, only teams. The 33-year-old announced his departure from Fenerbahçe and a day after, his arrival at Basaksehir Istanbul became official. According to the team’s announcement, Özil signed for one year, but has the option to sign for one more.

Lucas Torreira close to Valencia FC

Speaking to Sport 890, Pablo Betancur, Lucas Torreira‘s representative, informed that they have a pre-agreement for the Uruguayan to play for Valencia in the upcoming season.

Torreira is an Arsenal player and according to reports is still in coach Mikel Arteta‘s plans, but he is looking for new horizons in this transfer market.

Oleksandr Zinchenko in Arsenal’s sights

Journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic reported that Arsenal is interested in Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is currently a Manchester City player. According to this information, the two sides have been in communication since the Gunners signed Gabriel Jesus from City, but this negotiation would not be so easy as coach Pep Guardiola apparently does not want to part with the player.

Cristiano Ronaldo piqued Saudi Arabia’s interest

Cristiano Ronaldo has a current contract with Manchester United for the next 12 months, however, rumors have been swirling recently that he does not want to continue with the team. It has been rumored that he could go to Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG, but the most recent rumor is that he may go to Saudi Arabia, as apparently a club offered 300 million euros for him.

Emre Can no longer wanted by Borussia Dortmund

German newspaper Bild published a report stating that Emre Can is no longer part of the team’s plans. Apparently, this is not because of his performance, beyond the fact that he has been constantly injured, but because of his attitude, which has annoyed his teammates and the coaching staff.

Borussia are asking for €10 million from whoever decides to keep the player in this transfer window.
