At Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey, Brendan Langley got into a dispute with a United Airlines employee, and officials intervened.
Former Denver Broncos wide receiver Brendan Langley used to be a star on the field, but now his name is on everyone’s lips due to coming to blows in a public place.
A video began to circulate on social media in which the former NFL player is seen confronting an employee of the United Airlines company, but you can clearly see that it is the employee who strikes the first blow. Langley did not sit idly by and responded to the assault.
The United employee challenged him without thinking that he would be the one to bear the brunt. Brendan Langley did not stop and punched him, sending him through the airline counter and then to the ground. The worker stood up with difficulty; he already had blood on his face.
Anyone would think that Brendan Langley was not a footballer but a boxer. They continued arguing for a while longer until the authorities arrived to cool down the moment.
Why did Brendan Langley’s airport fight occur?
As reported by the Daily Mail, Langley used a cart to move his luggage and was approached by the United employee, who told him that he had to pay to use the cart.
Brendan Langley was arrested, and the airline decided to fire the boy, whose identity is still unknown.
United Airlines issued a statement stating the following:
“We do not tolerate violence of any kind at our airports or on board our aircraft, and we are working with local authorities to investigate this matter.”
Following his arrest, the 27-year-old former player accused the United employee of insulting him and speaking arrogantly to him.
All of the above happened last Thursday, May 19. The Daily Mail reported that Langley’s attorney, Alan Jackson, said Langley acted upon self-defense, as the videos are proof enough that the United employee attacked first. The charge Langley faced was simple assault.
What is Brendan Langley currently doing?
He is still a footballer, but is now a player for the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
