The departure of Tyreek Hill, via trade to the Miami Dolphins, leaves a huge void in the Kansas City Chiefs, who now need to move quickly in the market to find somebody that will help them minimize the impact of not having the speedy wide receiver with them. So, here follow five possible figures who could be wearing the Chiefs uniform in the 2022 season.

5.- Find a Catcher in the 2022 Draft

One of the few positive things that Hill’s trade could have left is the retribution the Chiefs received with several important picks in the upcoming drafts, including next April’s.

Kansas City could play it by taking one of the best wide receivers in the class, Garrett Wilson, to start looking for a franchise player in that position. Wilson closely resembles Hill’s characteristics, especially for getting yards after reception, so using one of the first-round picks on him doesn’t sound crazy.

4.- A.J. Green

Of course, at 33 years of age Green is not the same receiver of his young days with the Bengals, but he is still a very performing player who can serve as a good complement to Travis Kelce and JuJu Smichdt-Schuster, in addition to having such a high cost for the organization.

Still available in free agency, the seven-time Pro-Bowler comes from playing in 2021 with the Arizona Cardinals, a team with which he recorded 54 receptions, 848 rushing yards and three touchdowns in 16 games, nine of them as a starter. Not bad numbers if we take into account that if he reaches the Chiefs they will have one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

3.- Antonio Brown

If Brown has received opportunities on several teams even though they all had knowledge of his follies, why couldn’t the Chiefs try to bring him in to help Patrick Mahomes a little. The 33-year-old receiver no longer has such a high value in the market after his multiple sporting and extra-sporting problems obviously, but he certainly has the talent to help in the gridiron if he is focused.

Last season, before leaving the Buccanners leaving the field shirtless and in the middle of the game, Brown played seven games, three of them as a starter, in which he collected 545 yards with three touchdown passes.

2.- Odell Beckham Jr.

The bet on Beckham Jr. is a bit risky, but the receiver wouldn’t be looking so eagerly for a team to help him recover from a second torn knee ligament he suffered during the last Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams if he wasn’t so sure about returning during the 2022 season,.

With Mahomes at the helm, the Chiefs’ offense is one of the best in the league, something that can help the experienced wide receiver show that he remains one of the best on the circuit after putting aside his poor performance with the Browns and being one of the pillars of the Rams on their way to the Super Bowl. An addition of Beckham Jr. would certainly be a gain on both sides, as Kansas City would have an experienced figure helping them and, for their part, the receiver could manage to revitalize his career alongside Mahomes.

1.- Jarvis Landry

The Cleveland Browns are releasing five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry, who helped the team’s turnaround but is too expensive to keep, a person familiar with the move told the Associated Press. Landry will be let go Monday, March 14, 2022, as the NFL’s free agency tampering period opens, said the person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the team has not yet announced the transaction. Landry’s decline over the past two seasons may be a cause for concern for teams wishing to sign the free agent. But, at just 29 years old, the receiver still seems to have quality to play in the NFL, and switching from Baker Mayfield to Patrick Mahomes could be a solution to his problems.

After being released by the Browns, Landry remains the biggest catcher in free agency and the Chiefs might have in mind to look for him to complete their offense. In eight seasons in the league, Landry has played in the Pro-Bowl five times, as well as surpassing 1,000 yards through the air three times. Certainly, Landry is an important name that Kansas City could try to get in the coming days.
