Expert Mock Draft Observations

  • Aidan Hutchinson will not go higher than the second overall selection, as he is considered the best prospect of the entire crop by far. The University of Michigan alum would only be able to avoid the Jacksonville Jaguars if they choose a different tactic while making their decision.
  • Both the Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers will go for a quarterback, either to try to implement him as a starter early in his career or to develop him for the future. The top names are Malik Willis (Liberty University) or Kenny Pickett (University of Pittsburgh), but Matt Corral (University of Mississippi) and Desmond Ridder (University of Cincinnati) could also be considered. Other teams that could surprise by selecting a QB are the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.
  • Experts are certain that Ikem Ekwonu (North Carolina State University) will be the New York Giants’ first-round pick if he is still available when the time comes. The same would be true for Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton, and the Washington Commanders, if available, will undoubtedly select him.
  • There is a general notion that we will not see major changes at least within the first 30 selections of the first round, with only one of the experts presenting the idea of only one change in their entire simulation. All NFL franchises seem to be convinced that they can find what they need with a prospect in the draft, but of course, a blockbuster is something that no one sees coming, not even the most prepared.
  • The most complicated selection to predict belongs to the New England Patriots, at number 21, with all the experts giving completely different names and positions for the Eastern division team in the American conference.
