The Chargers’ new linebacker comes to a team that completely beefed up its defensive line and is surely ready to reminisce about those old days when in 2015 he finished second in the league in catches leader with 15 and in 2016 he won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. For life? 76.5 catches in 117 games.

Another great defensive back who makes our list is Chandler Jones, the Raiders’ new acquisition who will team up with Maxx Crosby to be the bane of opposing quarterbacks.
Twice, the linebacker has been among the top three defensive backs of the year and already knows what it’s like to be a leader in NFL sacks when in the 2017 campaign, in a Cardinals uniform, he got 17 of the 107.5 that he has registered in his great career in the circuit.

In 2022, Danielle Hunter will be looking to get back to the great pace she had in her career before a couple of injuries that have seen her play just seven games in the last two years.
The Minnesota Vikings defensive wing totaled 14.5 in both 2018 and 2019 to finish fourth in the category in each, so now recovered he is expected to be back among the leaders and fighting for the top spot in the upcoming NFL season.

The former 2016 Defensive Rookie of the Year is projected to have another good season in a retooled defense with Khalil Mack as a partner in his efforts to catch opposing QBs. The 24-year-old, like his brother, earned Defensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2019 and had his best catching performance last season, collecting 15.5 catches, the fourth-highest total in the league. With another year of experience Nick has the quality and conditions to fight for the title.

Well, what to say about Aaron Donald. The Rams’ defensive wing should always be in these discussions due to his impressive quality on the gridiron. In his first NFL season he won Defensive Rookie of the Year and in the following seven seasons he always finished in the top five of the Defensive Player of the Year, an award he won on three of those occasions.
He finished 2018 as the NFL sacks leader with 20.5, while recording at least 10 catches in six of eight seasons in the league, five in a row.

Considered the best linebacker in the NFL today, T.J. Watt has every reason to finish his third consecutive season as the NFL sacks leader. It is indeed strange to see that the Steelers’ defender is not first in the Las Vegas betting odds, although the margin is extremely small.
The 2021 Defensive Player of the Year tied last season’s record for most catches in a year by recording 22.5, while in 2020 he led the circuit with a total of 15. In his career he has 72 in 77 games, almost a catch per game. Incredible!

Myles Garrett leads Las Vegas betting odds to take the catching title from T.J. Watt. The Browns’ outstanding defensive end has four consecutive seasons with at least 10 catches to his credit, while collecting 58.5 in 68 career games played.
That consistency, as well as Cleveland’s defensive improvement for 2022, could open the door for him to earn one of the most important leads for a defensive player in the NFL.
