Liga MX has already determined the eight teams that will participate in the quarterfinals.
After the round of Liga MX Playoffs, the teams that will be fighting for the Clausura 2022 title are already known.
Here are the dates, times and venues for each of the four matches.
Cruz Azul, Puebla, Chivas and Atlético de San Luis are the teams that come from the playoffs of the Liga MX and will now face the best four teams from the regular phase: Pachuca, Tigres, Atlas and América.
Pachuca finished in first place overall with 38 points, so this time they will face Atlético de San Luis, who finished in tenth place. The Potosí team defeated Monterrey in the playoffs in a penalty shootout and will surely be motivated for this match against the general leader.
The first match will be played at the Alfonso Lastras Stadium on Wednesday, May 11 at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time).
Pachuca will have the privilege of closing at the Hidalgo Stadium on Saturday, May 14, at 6:05 p.m. (Pacific time).
Tigres was in second place overall with 33 points and qualified directly for the quarterfinals of the MX League. They were waiting for their opponent and in the end they were paired with Cruz Azul.
The “Máquina Cementera” got into trouble in the playoffs and had to decide their place in the quarterfinals in a penalty shootout against Necaxa. Thanks to good fortune, now they have reached this point.
The first leg will be played at the Azteca Stadium on Thursday, May 12 at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time).
Tigres will host the second leg at the Universitario Stadium on Sunday, May 15 at 6:05 p.m. (Pacific Time).
The reigning Liga MX champion, Atlas, qualified for the Fiesta Grande after finishing third overall and will face none other than their long-time arch-rivals: Chivas.
After Chivas defeated Pumas 4-1 in the playoff match, a fresh edition of Mexican soccer’s longest rivalry, the “Clásico Tapatío,” will be played in this Liguilla.
The first leg will be played at Akron Stadium on Thursday, May 12 at 7:05 p.m. (Pacific Time) and the match will be played at Jalisco Stadium on Sunday, May 15 at 4:00 p.m. (Pacific Time).
Club América had a great close to the tournament after struggling during the start of the Clausura 2022 and managed to sneak into the top four teams of the campaign to obtain a direct pass to the quarterfinals of the Liga MX. In this stage, they will face Puebla.
