Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is aware of the team’s worth and said that even if he received offers above the appraised value, he would never agree to sell it.
The businessman and owner of the Dallas Cowboys is adamant about one thing in life: his love for his club, as evidenced by his recent statement that he would not sell the franchise for any millionaire amount of money.
The Cowboys are currently estimated to be worth $6.5 billion, but Jerry Jones is aware that anyone interested in acquiring his franchise could well exceed that amount.
Jones has owned the Dallas Cowboys since 1989, but when he acquired the team he only spent $150 million, and that investment has been one of the businessman’s most successful.
In a recent conversation with NBC Sports reporter Peter King, Jerry Jones said the franchise may cost “more than $10 billion,” but said he wouldn’t be tempted by any offer.
“Let me make this very clear. I’ll say it, definitely. I will never do it. I will never sell the Cowboys. Ever.”
People might say “never say never”, but Jerry Jones seems to be quite sure of his decision.
Dallas Cowboys owner won’t accept offers
In 2021, Forbes ranked the Cowboys as the most valuable franchise in the NFL at $6.5 billion, an increase of 14% from the previous year. Isn’t it obvious why the boss doesn’t want to part with his team?
In the business magazine’s list, the following most valuable NFL teams were revealed: behind Dallas, there are the New England Patriots with a value of $5,000 million, followed by the New York Giants with $4,850 million.
The conversation between Peter King and the owner of the Dallas Cowboys came after rumors emerged about the upcoming sale of the Denver Broncos, a team that Forbes estimated to be worth $3.75 billion last year.
If the Broncos are sold, it will be the most expensive sports transaction in American history, with a value of $4,000 million to $5,000 million dollars.
