Predictions for the 2022 NFL Week 4 Games
Miami Dolphins (+155) vs Cincinnati Bengals (-189) / Thursday, September 29 / 8:15 PM E.T.
- Dolphins Spread: +3.5
- Bengals Spread: -3.5.
- Over/Under: 47.
The Dolphins and Bengals face off against each other on Thursday Night Football, kicking off Week 4 of the NFL season.
Miami is coming off a big away win over the Bills, one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. The win keeps them undefeated, although it is possible that their quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, will miss the game against Cincinnati due to ankle and back discomfort. This is a significant problem prior to facing a strong defense, particularly from the air.
As for the Bengals, last season’s AFC champions, they won their first game of the year after defeating the Jets. Joe Burrow had his best performance of the season, even though he again suffered from the struggles of his offensive line. For this game, they’ll need to improve their ground attack against one of the best secondaries in the league.
Prediction: Under.

Minnesota Vikings (-145) vs New Orleans Saints (+120) / Sunday, October 2 / 9:30 AM E.T.
- Vikings Spread: -2.5.
- Spread Saints: +2.5.
- Over/Under: 43.5
The Vikings and Saints rivalry in the NFC has been a special one in recent seasons, and this Sunday they will bring it to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in England in what will be the first international match of 2022.
The Vikings rallied to beat the Lions in the final seconds of the game, improving their record to 2-1. Kirk Cousins led his team’s comeback with 260 yards through the air and two touchdowns. However, Minnesota continues to generate doubts despite its good play in Week 1 against the Packers.
This time, they will be facing a Saints team that hasn’t had a good start to the year after falling to 1-2 despite a good defensive performance. New Orleans’ offense has been far from what was expected and it wasn’t until the fourth period that they managed to score 14 points against the Panthers.
While they totaled 426 total yards, they lost the ball three times and their quarterback, Jameis Winston, has more interceptions (5) than TDs (4) in 2022 .
Prediction: Vikings Spread.

Cleveland Browns (-130) vs Atlanta Falcons (+110) / Sunday, October 2 / 1:00 PM E.T.
- Browns Spread: -2.0.
- Falcons Spread: +2.0.
- Over/Under: 49.5.
The Browns vs Falcons will meet next Sunday with the goal of keeping up the good pace after both teams won last weekend.
Despite the absence of Deshaun Watson, the Browns remain undefeated with a 2-1 record. Jacoby Brissett paced the offense with 220 yards and two touchdown passes, while Amari Cooper added 101 yards through the air and Nick Chubb rushed for 113 yards with a TD against a good Pittsburgh defense that couldn’t prevent a late-period hurricane.
Meanwhile, Atlanta picked up its first win of the year by defeating the Seahawks on the road. The Falcons defense allowed 420 total yards, but held Seattle scoreless in the fourth quarter to take a 27-23 lead. Against the Browns, their performance in this area will have to improve in order to support an offense that averages 27 points per game.
Prediction: Over.

Buffalo Bills (-189) vs Baltimore Ravens (+155) / Sunday, October 2 / 1:00 PM E.T.
- Bills Spread: -3.5.
- Ravens Spread: +3.5.
- Over/Under: 52.
In one of the most interesting matchups of NFL Week 4, two of the teams that are expected to fight for the AFC title will meet when the Bills visit the Ravens at home.
Buffalo comes into the game after suffering a painful loss to the Dolphins that not only put them second in the AFC East behind Miami, but also knocked them off their undefeated streak this season. The Bills and Josh Allen were unable to capitalize on opportunities despite finishing the game with 497 total yards, and must now look to get back on the winning track against Lamar Jackson and company.
Baltimore is coming off a crushing of the Patriots and while their defense has not been as solid as expected, it will be interesting to see how their high-powered offense, led by the talented QB, measures up against one of the league’s best defenses like the Bills’.
Prediction: Over.

Washington Commanders (+145) vs Dallas Cowboys (-175) / Sunday, October 2 / 1:00 PM E.T.
- Spread Commanders: +3.0.
- Cowboys Spread: -3.0.
- Over/Under: 42.5
In a matchup of NFC East teams, the Cowboys return home after an important win on Monday Night Football to host the Commanders.
After starting the season with a win, Washington suffered their second loss on Sunday when they were stopped by the Eagles. Carson Wentz threw for 211 yards with no touchdown passes, and the Commanders could only muster eight points, which came in the fourth quarter. After struggling against Philadelphia, they will now have to face another very good defense, the Cowboys’.
Dallas comes in with a good record because, despite losing Dak Prescott in the first week, they have two straight wins thanks to Cooper Rush’s efforts. The win over the Giants in a close game, gives a new lease of life to the team and to the Cowboys’ defense that allowed only 336 total yards to New York, and still hasn’t conceded more than 19 points in a game.
Prediction: Cowboys Spread.

Seattle Seahawks (+200) vs Detroit Lions (-250) / Sunday, October 2 / 1:00 PM E.T.
- Seahwaks Spread: +5.5.
- Lions Spread: -5.5.
- Over/Under: 50.
In a matchup that pits two teams with bad records this season, the Seahawks will have a tough test when they face the Lions.
Seattle missed a great opportunity to take a 2-1 record by falling at home to the Falcons, despite having had several chances to win in the final period. Geno Smith had another good game, and while the team gained 420 yards, the knockout punch was missing. They have a chance to prove themselves against the Lions, who concede 31 points per game on average.
Despite this, Detroit has made a good impression this season, and their two losses have come by four points or fewer. Their defense hasn’t been entirely efficient, but their offense is one of the most prolific in the circuit, especially their ground attack. Against the Vikings, they totaled 416 yards, 139 of them on the ground in 35 carries, to rank fourth in the circuit in average yards in this way.
Prediction: Lions Spread.

Los Angeles Chargers (-227) vs Houston Texans (+180) / Sunday, October 2 / 1:00 PM E.T.
- Spread Chargers: -4.5.
- Spread Texans: +4.5.
- Over/Under: 44.5.
The Texans remain without a victory this season and will look for their first win this Sunday against a Chargers team that was surprised by the Jaguars.
The Los Angeles team was thrashed 38-10, at home, by a Jacksonville team that sowed many doubts in the squad led by Brandon Staley. Despite Justin Herbert’s 297 yards through the air, one of the league’s best defenses was unable to respond to their opponents’ offense and will now need a good game to redeem itself.
Meanwhile, Houston lost 23-20 to the Bears on a field goal in the last minutes of the game, which robbed them of the opportunity to get their first victory. The Texans’ offense has been the team’s main problem. Although the defense hasn’t allowed more than 23 points, the offense has still not been able to score more than 20 points. Against Los Angeles, things aren’t looking very good.
Prediction: Chargers Spread.

Tennessee Titans (+145) vs Indianapolis Colts (-175) / Sunday, October 2 / 1:00 PM E.T.
- Titans Spread: +3.0.
- Spread Colts: -3.0.
- Over/Under: 42.5
The Titans and the Colts finally managed to win this season, and next Sunday they will face each other in a very important match for their aspirations in the AFC South.
After being overwhelmed by the Bills, Tennessee bounced back with a big win over the Raiders. Although they failed to score a single point in the second half after scoring 24 in the first one, the Titans’ defense did the job in the final period to seal the win. On offense, the biggest story was Derrick Henry’s 85 yards and a touchdown.
After being blanked by the Jaguars, the Colts were the stars of another of the day’s surprises when they defeated the Chiefs. Matt Ryan threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns in his best game since arriving in Indianapolis. Jonathan Taylor, for one, continues to fall short. The defense had a big night against Patrick Mahomes and that bodes well.
Prediction: Over.

Chicago Bears (+140) vs New York Giants (-164) / Sunday, October 2 / 1:00 PM E.T.
- Bears Spread: +3.5.
- Giants Spread: -3.5.
- Over/Under: 39.
The Bears and Giants will square off next Sunday in a crucial game between two teams with distinct offenses.
Chicago is one of the three leaders in the NFC North after beating the Texans last weekend to take a 2-1 record. While their defense has only once conceded more than 20 points this season, the Bears’ offense continues to struggle. Against Houston, Justin Fields totaled just 106 yards for no TDs along with two interceptions. Additionally, Chicago hasn’t scored more than 23 points all year.
Facing them will be a New York team that lost their undefeated record on Monday at home to their division rivals, the Cowboys. Stopped in their tracks by Dallas’ potent defense, the most the Giants have scored this year is 21 points in the first week of action. Despite the loss, the defense remains the team’s trademark and Dallas’ 23 points are the most conceded in 2022.
Prediction: Under.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+240) vs Philadelphia Eagles (-303) / Sunday, October 2 / 1:00 PM E.T.
- Jaguars Spread: +6.5.
- Eagles Spread: -6.5.
- Over/Under: 48.5
NFL Week 4 features a matchup between two unexpected stars at this point in the season, as the undefeated Eagles take on the surprising Jaguars.
Jacksonville not only blanked the Colts, but last weekend thrashed the powerful Chargers defense on the road, with 38 points. Trevor Lawrence has 772 yards with six TDs and just one interception this year, and must now face a Philadelphia defense that has conceded a total of 15 points in its last two games.
The Eagles offense is also one of the best in the circuit thanks to the great season Jalen Hurts is having, who is coming off 340 yards through the air and three touchdowns against the Commanders. Now they must face a Jacksonville defense that, like the Eagles, has been incredible the last two weeks, conceding just 10 points.

New York Jets (+150) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (-185) / Sunday, October 2 / 1:00 PM E.T.
- Jets Spread: +3.5.
- Steelers Spread: -3.5.
- Over/Under: 40.5
Two teams in need of winning will take to the gridiron at Acrisure Stadium this Sunday when the Steelers host the Jets.
The New York team is coming off a home loss to the Bengals in what was a poor performance by quarterback Joe Flacco. The Jets did not score a single touchdown in the game, and the experienced QB finished with 285 yards through the air and two interceptions. This is a performance that could be repeated when facing a good Steelers defense.
On the other hand, Pittsburgh, after beating the Bengals in the first week, has lost in consecutive weeks to the Patriots and Browns. In this last one, Cleveland scored 13 points during the last quarter against a good defense that had stopped them throughout the game. On offense, Mitch Trubisky keeps up a low-key performance, totaling 207 yards without a touchdown.
Prediction: Under.

Arizona Cardinals (+100) vs Carolina Panthers (-120) / Sunday, October 2 / 4:05 PM E.T.
- Cardinals Spread: +1.5.
- Panthers Spread: -1.5.
- Over/Under: 44
In another NFL Week 4 matchup, the Cardinals will face a difficult task in winning for the second time this season when they visit the Panthers.
Arizona was barely able to score 12 points last Sunday against the powerful Rams defense. Kyler Murray and company failed to score a touchdown following their big Week 3 win over the Raiders, and now face a Carolina defense that has allowed 19 points or fewer in two of its three games.
The Panthers won their first 2022 game after defeating the Saints. Carolina’s defense didn’t concede points until the final period and forced New Orleans to fumble three times. On the offensive side, Baker Mayfield still does not have a superlative performance, but he had another good game along with Christian McCaffrey, who ran for 108 yards.

New England Patriots (+400) vs Green Bay Packers (-556) / Sunday, October 2 / 4:25 PM E.T.
- Patriots Spread: +10.5.
- Packers Spread: -10.5.
- Over/Under: 40.
Two teams with very different realities face off this Sunday when the Patriots and Packers meet in Week 4 of college football.
In addition to being outplayed by the Ravens last week and falling to 1-2, the Patriots will have to play the next few weeks without quarterback Mac Jones, who is out indefinitely with an ankle injury. Bryan Hoyer will be the man to take control of an offense that, although it showed up against Baltimore, scored only 24 points in the first two weeks.
For their part, the Packers are coming off a very important win over the Buccaneers to move to 2-1 on the season, but there remain doubts about the offensive. Aaron Rodgers and company scored all 14 of the game’s points in the first quarter and from then on Green Bay didn’t score any points. The good news is that the defense is in tune by conceding only 22 points in the last two weeks.

Denver Broncos (+110) vs Las Vegas Raiders (-135) / Sunday, October 2 / 4:25 PM E.T.
- Broncos Spread: +2.5.
- Raiders Spread: -2.5.
- Over/Under: 44.5.
In the tough AFC West, neither the Broncos nor the Raiders have looked good so far, and one of them will add another headache to their season on Sunday.
Although Denver has a 2-1 record, they failed to score an aerial touchdown in their 11-10 win over the 49ers and haven’t scored more than 16 points in any game this season. Russell Wilson still hasn’t found the scoring formula in his new home; if it weren’t for a defense that hasn’t conceded more than 10 points in either of his last two games, the team’s reality would be very different.
For their part, Las Vegas is the only team at 0-3 and one of the two teams that hasn’t found out what it is like to win this year. This is something unthinkable for a team that had a strong performance during the preseason and that will now have to look for a win, no matter what, at home against Denver. None of their three losses have come by more than six points, but they have failed to close out games in large part because of Derek Carr’s inconsistency.
Prediction: Under.

Kansas City Chiefs (-145) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+120) / Sunday, October 2 / 8:20 PM E.T.
- Chiefs Spread: -2.5.
- Buccaneers Spread: +2.5.
- Over/Under: 45.5.
In what will be the first meeting between the Chiefs and Buccaneers after the Super Bowl two seasons ago, this week’s Sunday Night Football brings us two teams coming into the matchup on a mission to get back to winning ways.
Kansas City suffered a surprise loss to the Colts and lost their undefeated record, so they remain tied with Denver at the top of the AFC North. The Chiefs only scored three points in the second half of the game and will now face a Tampa Bay defense that hasn’t conceded more than 14 points in any of the first three weeks.
The Buccaneers’ problem has been, incredibly, their offense. Tom Brady has definitely struggled this season, and he lacked the presence of Cris Godwin and Mike Evans in their loss to the Packers last week. Evans returns this weekend after serving his suspension. His help will be key to see if the Bucs can go over 20 points for the first time and against a very tough opponent like the Chiefs.
Prediction: Under.

Los Angeles Rams (+120) vs San Francisco 49ers (-145) / Monday, October 3 / 8:15 PM E.T.
- Rams Spread: +2.5.
- 49ers Spread: -2.5.
- Over/Under: 41.5.
NFL Week 4 closes out in the NFC West when the Rams and the 49ers square off in an intriguing divisional matchup in the middle of the Monday Night Football schedule.
After their loss to the Bills in Week 1, the Rams have found their way back to winning ways and with a 2-1 record are the lone leaders of their group. Backed by a defense that held the Cardinals to 10 points, the reigning champions have managed to overcome the slow start of their quarterback, Matthew Stafford, and come into this matchup looking to extend their lead.
For its part, San Francisco is coming from Sunday night’s game against the Broncos in a game that ended 11-10, to put its record at 1-2, and in which Jimmy Garoppolo couldn’t be of great help to his team’s offensive. Next Monday, at home, Jimmy-G will have another tough test against a defense that didn’t allow touchdowns to Arizona.
Prediction: Under.
