Betting on the Marshall Thundering Herd
The 26-21 win over Notre Dame in Indiana catapulted their season, as they came in as victims but pulled out a movie-worthy win and that motivated them. Charles Huff has done a great job against the Thundering Herd, who are on the doorstep of their first bowl since 2018 when they beat South Florida 38-20. They have lost three in a row and it could be said that it is their turn.
His forte is defense. It is ranked 18th best in the nation with an average of just 324.4 yards allowed per game, which by league standards is quite good.
On offense, they are more traditional. They run a lot, and if they run it for more than 200 yards, they win the game. Khalan Laborn has 1423 yards this season and 16 touchdowns so he is the key to the first collegiate bowl title in four years.
Betting on the UConn Huskies
Jim Mora Jr. should have been the head coach of the season. In his first season at the helm of the Huskies, he qualified them for bowls after the program had been unsuccessful in previous years, making this the seventh bowl appearance in its history.
They haven’t won one since 2009 and haven’t appeared in a bowl since 2015 when they lost the St Petersburg Bowl 10-16 to Marshall precisely, so this would be a perfect rematch for the Huskies.
UConn’s strength is Zion Turner and his powerful arm and ability to read plays. Running against Marshall is complicated by their potent defense that dried up powerhouses in the nation, but it takes a little more to beat the Thundering Herd.
