The Niners emerge from a bye in Week 9 looking to get back on track. They have lost all of their last three games after starting the season like a house on fire by going undefeated in their first five outings. Better things can be expected of San Francisco in Week 10.
For one, they are well-rested. Also, Deebo Samuel, who missed the 49ers’ last two games, seems to be on track to play this coming weekend after already logging in a practice this week. Moreover, the Niners just acquired former second-overall pick defensive end Chase Young via a trade recently. Young will be another major weapon for San Francisco’s defense which is fourth in the NFL with 17.5 points allowed per game.

Speaking of rest, the Jaguars are also coming off a Week 9 bye. Unlike the 49ers, though, Jacksonville has been unstoppable of late. After losing two of their first three games of the season, the Jaguars have gone 5-0 straight up. In their most recent outing, the Jaguars took down the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road in Week 8 to the tune of a 20-10 score.
They could also be catching San Francisco at just the right time, with each team moving in a different direction at the moment. While the 49ers have been struggling to win games, the Jaguars are building momentum with one win after another. The Jaguars, who are 6-2-0 against the spread this season, are 10th in the NFL with 24.1 points per game and ninth with just 19.5 points surrendered per outing.
